Learn how to send your trade-in device

Prepare your device for trade-in

To send your trade-in device, use the prepaid trade-in kit sent to you and follow the included instructions.

Important: To receive a trade-in refund, you must remove any device locks such as passwords, patterns, PINs and fingerprint locks. Then, factory reset the device. Devices that aren't unlocked and factory reset will be returned.

1. Transfer data from your old device

2. Remove activation locks from the device

3. Factory reset your device

Important: After a factory reset is complete, your device won't require a password for the device or your account. If you need a password, the factory reset isn't complete and you must try again.

  2. Power off your device.
  3. Remove the SIM card from the SIM tray.
    • Important: Leave the SIM tray in the device.

  • Do not send in devices with damaged or swollen batteries. These won't receive any credit and can't be returned.
