Photo comments disapeared

My wife and I just tried sharing an album and having some family comment on the photos we shared. We got some comments on a number of photos, and received notifications. We were able to read the comments a couple of hours ago - but now the comments are gone, with no trace.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Does Google Photos track comment history similar to Drive? I've been looking for a while and couldn't find anything.

Just open the album concerned in your browser via https://photos.google.com/albums - then you will find back these comments also (unless removed).
There is something like a history indeed, but I don't know where.
So others will come with bright ideas.

Hello Ricardo and RinusA,

Welcome to the Google Photos Help Forum.

@RinusA: I really appreciate you sharing your inputs.

@Ricardo: In addition to "RinusA" suggestions, If you turn commenting off, existing comments will still show unless you delete them and to review all of the comments that you've made, go to the activity log.

If you still unable to find the comments, try the following steps in a sequence to see if it helps resolve the issue:

  1. Try a different browser to see if it is a browser related issue.

  2. Clear your cookies and cache.

  3. Try Incognito/private window.

  4. Disable extensions/add-ons/plug-ins.

Here's a useful help center article for more information on "Change sharing options".

Let me know the results.

Member levels indicate a user's level of participation in a forum. The greater the participation, the higher the level. Everyone starts at level 1 and can rise to level 10. These activities can increase your level in a forum:

  • Post an answer.

  • Having your post rated as helpful.
  • Vote up a post.
  • Correctly mark a topic or post as abuse.

Having a post marked and removed as abuse will slow a user's advance in levels.
