You can restore recently deleted photos and videos that are still in your bin. Items that are permanently deleted can't be restored.
If you're missing photos and videos, check your bin. Photos and videos in the bin are deleted permanently after:
- 60 days for photos and videos that are backed up
- 30 days for photos and videos that aren't backed up

If your missing item is archived, you can unarchive it so that it shows in your Google Photos library.

If your missing photo or video is in your bin, you can restore it.
If your missing photo or video isn't in your bin, it may have been permanently deleted. Learn more about deleted photos and videos.
Restore photos and videos
Important: You can only restore photos and videos if they're still in your bin.
- On your Android device, open the Google Photos app
.
- At the bottom, tap Collections
Bin.
- Touch and hold the photo or video that you want to restore.
- If the photo or video isn't in your bin, it may have been permanently deleted.
- At the bottom, tap Restore. Your photo or video will be back in:
- The albums that it was in
- Google Photos library
- The phone's gallery app
Check if you can restore deleted photos and videos
Important: If you're inactive in Google Photos for two years or more, your content may be deleted. Learn about the Google Photos inactivity policy.
You can restore deleted photos and videos, if:
- Backed up: You moved it to the bin less than 60 days ago.
- Wasn't backed up:
- You moved it to the bin less than 30 days ago on an Android 11 and up device.
- You haven't permanently deleted it from your device's gallery app.
- Regardless of backup status:
- You moved it to the bin and haven't emptied the bin.
- You haven't permanently deleted it from the bin.
