Does GSuite for non profits have a free basic google voice option as well?

We would love to use a Google Voice number with our non-profit account which would only be used a couple of times per week.

Hi Chris,

Great question. The Google for Nonprofits edition of G Suite (similar to G Suite Basic) does not come with Google Voice. Google Voice is an add-on paid subscription that you can add to any G Suite subscription. See here to compare Voice subscriptions and check out the steps for setting up Voice for your organization

Thanks for the feedback that you'd like to see Google Voice incorporated into the Google for Nonprofits product offering. I'll be sure to pass it along!

Cheers,

Fiona

Is there any way to get a Google Voice account, but not pay the monthly fee? We only need to use it one time to receive text/call to verify Zelle and Venmo payments. We wouldn't need it for anything else.

Is there any way to add this feature in Gsuite for business/nonprofits? Thank you!

As a nonprofit organization, we can't afford the new Google Voice fees... We used to recommend Google Voice to our staff as an alternative to getting a second cell phone, but now they won't be able to do so. We are very disappointed. Pretty please consider reverting to make it free again for us little nonprofits without budgets for tech.
Thanks!

I agree with everyone. As a non-profit it is really hard to find any decent HIPAA compliant phone services. I have heard wonderful things about Google voice and was excited to try you since I have Google for Nonprofits. I was really disappointed to see how much is being charged.. If there is any way to get this included that would be wonderful.

I also believe offering Voice as an included service or available via grants would be invaluable to many nonprofits.

A feature I specifically would like to see is a collaborative way to use a single number. Something like "Delegated Access" or "Collaborative Inbox." Our organization currently doesn't have a need for separate lines. We do, however, need a way for someone to handle calls when the primary Voice user is on vacation or overwhelmed by incoming call spikes.

Fiona,
It looks like G-Suite Voice support started for early-adopters on July 18, 2018, and all users on April 10, 2019.

G-Suite for my non-profit was set up a few years back.  There are many staff with Voice support, but this must be what you call "Legacy unmanaged".  Those accounts work fine today, but I can not add new staff without adding a  Starter,  Standard, or Premier Subscription.

Questions:
1) Can I get Voice Legacy Unmanaged service for new staff?
2) If I start a Starter Subscription for 2 people, will all the remaining staff using Legacy get converted to Starter automatically (and billed)?

Thanks, Kevin J

I am adding to the requests above. Even a limited amount of 2-5 free numbers would be a great help to protect the volunteers at our non-profit so that they do not need to use their personal numbers.

We're adding our voice to the support for this!

We're in Australia and we're currently using Skype for an expensive online number service. (Not as expensive as Google Voice's $20/month though.)

It would be great for Google to support charities so that we can go all-Google.

Hello all,

I agree with everyone above. We have the G-Suite for Nonprofits as well. We would love to see Google Voice added as well. As a smaller nonprofit, we just can’t afford a bill for phone services. Would greatly appreciate it if this could go up the chain as a recommendation.

Thanks!

This is really a bummer. We used to have google voice for free with our "legacy suite" but google made us upgrade to the new G Suite for Non Profits, otherwise a lot of the features were becoming inaccessible. Now it says we'd have to pay $20 / user / month to include google voice services? We won't be able to afford that, as a nonprofit. I guess we will be looking into other options.

Seems odd to me that you provide Voice free to the general public but are unwilling to do the same for small non-profits that need a single number. While the $120/yearly fee may seem small to those at Google - it's $120 less that we all have to fulfill our mission and serve those we serve.
