Structured data markup

A custom icon for Merchant Center Classic article header.

Structured data markup helps define the properties of the products in your merchant-hosted local shop front and click & collect data. Adding required structured data markup helps to ensure that Google can review the accuracy of the local product data.

Merchant-hosted local shop front structured data

Add required structured data markup from the table below to your product landing pages:

Note: Schema.org markup can be used on web pages written in any language. The markup, like HTML, is in English. Schema.org values are case sensitive.

Schema.org value Product or inventory feed specification value Value type
Product > sku itemid SKU string
Product > offers > price price This field should only contain the price value. The price should be a number without separators between thousands or spaces (e.g. '8.99').
Product > offers > priceCurrency price (currency) Price currency always has to be specified in the 3-letter ISO 4217 format (e.g. 'USD', 'GBP', 'EUR'), and the currency should meet the language and currency requirements for your target country.
Product > offers > availability availability Valid ItemAvailability value. The most common schema.org values are InStock and OutofStock.
Product > offers > itemCondition condition Valid OfferItemCondition [OfferItemCondition]. The most common schema.org values are NewCondition and UsedCondition.
Product > offers > availableAtOrFrom > branchCode store code A unique alphanumeric identifier for each local shop. You must use the same shop codes that you provided in your Business Profiles.

Requirements for structured data markup

  • Structured data markup must be present in the HTML returned from the web server. The structured data markup can't be generated using JavaScript after the page has loaded.
  • Your landing page cannot change based on information about the user, such as if you adapt prices based on a user's IP address or browser type.
  • Structured data must match the values that are shown to the user. Providing incorrect data on your product landing pages is a violation of our web developer guidelines.
