Show products as in-store inventory automatically

Google can automatically showcase your online products to local shoppers nearby if you operate a single physical store and sell products online. This feature converts your online offers into omnichannel offers without requiring you to set up and upload a local inventory feed.

How it works

Google uses website and store location details to determine if your online products are fulfilled directly from your retail store.

  • Your online price and availability (“in stock” or “out of stock”) are used to automatically set the local product's details.
  • These products then appear as local inventory on Google Search, Shopping, and Maps through free local listings.

Access your automated inventory settings

In Merchant Center, you can view your automatically-synced local inventory and manage its state:

  1. Go to Data sources under Settings in the left menu.
  2. Under “Found by Google”, select the Local inventory tab. You’ll find your automatically-synced local listings.

Opt out of automatically-added local inventory

You can opt out of the automatic local inventory feature directly from your Merchant Center account through the “Data sources” page:

During the 14-day notice period or “Pending” state

  1. Go to Data sources under Settings in the left menu.
  2. Under “Found by Google”, select the Local inventory tab.
  3. Find the row for Automated local feed. You’ll find a “Pending” status along with your scheduled auto-activation date.
  4. Select the Opt out link next to the activation date.
  5. A “Decline” pop-up will appear. Check the opt-out box and select Decline to confirm.

After automatic activation or “Active” state

  1. Go to Data sources under Settings in the left menu.
  2. Under “Found by Google”, select the Local inventory tab.
  3. Find the active Automated local feed.
  4. Select the 3-dot icon 3 dot menu icon next to the data source name.
  5. Select Stop showing automatically added local inventory.
  6. In the confirmation pop-up, select Decline to turn off the automation.
Note: If you choose to opt out or stop showing automatically added local inventory, the Google Business Profile link to your Merchant Center account will be revoked, and the Free Local Listings add-on will be deactivated.

Override automated inventory with manual data

If you provide manual inventory data, it will immediately override and deactivate your automated single location store with online offer inventory.

Take note that stores that were automatically-matched by Google will be unlinked, and any automatically-verified inventory status will be removed, if you decide to start submitting your own local inventory data (for example, by uploading a manual inventory data source or connecting an API).

You’ll need to manually link your Google Business Profile to your Merchant Center account and complete the standard manual inventory verification process to resume showing local listings.
