On September 15, 2023, support for FTP in Merchant Center will end. After this date, it will no longer be possible to share a file with Merchant Center via FTP. Other upload methods like SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) will still be available and unaffected by this change.
No creation of new FTP accounts
As of March 22, 2023, it will no longer be possible to create new FTP accounts within Merchant Center. If you still need to create new FTP accounts within Merchant Center after this date, you can request an extension by completing this form.
Removal of existing but inactive FTP accounts
Existing FTP accounts that have had no activity for 90 days will be removed from the relevant Merchant Center accounts on March 22, 2023.
Removal of existing active FTP accounts
To avoid disruption, merchants who are using FTP accounts to transfer files to Merchant Center will need to migrate to a different product data upload method by September 15, 2023. On that date, all existing FTP accounts will be removed from their relevant Merchant Center accounts. Learn more about alternatives to FTP in Merchant Center
Note: Product feeds that use a file delivered via FTP will work with a file by the same name delivered via SFTP. It isn’t necessary to recreate the feed.
If you aren’t using FTP in Merchant Center, no action is required. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your Google representative for Merchant Center programs, or contact our support teams.
