This article explains various reasons why click and collect setups, like, pick up today and pick up later, are rejected by Google and what you can do to resolve the issues.

Pick up today rejection reasons

Missing pick up today option: Display your omnichannel pick-up options on your product landing page or in your checkout flow

Your product landing pages and checkout flow don't provide an option to place an order to pick up today. Add a pick up today option to your product landing pages or in your checkout flow. Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display a click and collect today option

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don't offer an option to place an order for pick up today, you'll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant-hosted local shop front setup.
  4. In the 'Pick up today' section, tick the box labelled 'My website allows shoppers to buy online and collect at the shop'.
  5. Resubmit your example product landing page URL for click and collect in the text box.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Google will conduct another eligibility review of your website.

Missing pick up today availability: Display your omnichannel pick-up availability on your product landing page or in your checkout flow

Your product landing pages and checkout flow don't provide click and collect availability. Add a shop selector with the ability to show click and collect availability:

  • Pick up today availability can be displayed after clicking on a link, for example, check local availability, or after submitting a postcode or address.
  • Shop selection for pickup can occur in your checkout flow after a user has added an item to their basket.
  • After a user clicks or inputs the required information, your site must display an item's available collection methods ('reserve online' or 'buy online') and an item's collection SLA ('same day' or 'next day' collection). You must also display the location of the local shop.

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display click and collect availability

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don't provide click and collect availability, you'll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant-hosted local shop front setup.

Missing shop selector: Ensure that your product pages allow users to select a shop to check price and availability

Your product landing pages don't provide users the option to check a product's collection availability at various shop locations. Add a shop selector to your product landing pages or checkout flow. Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Add a shop selector to your product landing pages or checkout flow

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don't provide a shop selector, you'll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant-hosted local shop front setup.

Missing pick up today attributes: Submit the required attributes for pick up today

Your primary and product inventory feeds don't contain required attributes for the pick up today feature. Review the required attributes for pick up today and add these values to your feed. Values for collection method [pickup_method] and collection SLA [pickup_SLA] must be submitted in either your primary feed or product inventory feed. Learn more about the required attributes for Pick up today with merchant-hosted local shop front (full) or Pick up today with merchant-hosted local shop front (basic).

Step 1 of 4: Check your primary feed

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Products drop-down menu from the left navigation panel.
  2. Click Feeds.
  3. Select your primary feed.
  4. Click Download file.
  5. Open your feed file and ensure that you are submitting values for collection method [pickup_method] and collection SLA [pickup_SLA]. Make sure that the collection method and collection SLA attributes are spelt correctly.

Step 2 of 4: Check your product inventory feed

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Products drop-down menu from the left navigation panel.
  2. Click Feeds.
  3. Select your product inventory feed.
  4. Click Download file.
  5. Open your feed file and ensure that you are submitting values for collection method [pickup_method] and collection SLA [pickup_SLA]. Make sure that the collection method and collection SLA attributes are spelt correctly.

Step 3 of 4: Add the required attributes to your primary feed or product inventory feed

  1. Add collection method [pickup_method] and collection SLA [pickup_SLA] to your primary feed or product inventory feed.
  2. Resubmit your feed.

Step 4 of 4: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and your merchant-hosted local shop front setup.

Pick up later rejection reasons

Missing pick up later SLA: Clearly indicate when the order will be available to pick up

After a user clicks or inputs the required information, your site must display an item's collection SLA (pick-up time information). You must also display the location of the local shop.

Step 1 of 2: Update your product landing pages or checkout flow to display click and collect availability

If your product landing pages or checkout flow don't provide click and collect SLA, you'll need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.

  3. Select your country and under 'Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your shops in {country name}?', select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what's in stock at my shops.

  4. In the 'Pick up later' section, select 'If a product isn't in stock, deliver to shop is available'.

Missing price: Add your product's omnichannel price to your product landing pages

Your example product landing page doesn't contain an omnichannel price for your product. Add the price of your products to your product landing pages. For a more detailed overview of what constitutes a misrepresentation, please consult our misrepresentation policy.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Add the product price to your product landing pages

If your product landing pages don't provide an omnichannel price, you will need to add that to your website pages.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under 'Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your shops in {country name}?', select one of the following options:
    • Yes, I know what's in stock at my shops.
    • No, I don't know what's in stock at my shops, but I can deliver products to my shops. Note: If you select this option, then you will also need to select a merchant-hosted local shop front experience.

Payment wall: Your website should allow users to view their fulfilment options without having to enter their payment information

Customers should be able to view the available fulfilment options without having to enter their payment information. Remove this requirement from your website. For a more detailed overview of what constitutes a misrepresentation, please consult our misrepresentation policy.

Follow the steps below:

Step 1 of 2: Remove the requirement to pay before displaying fulfilment options from your website

If your website is showing any requirement to pay before displaying fulfilment options, then you will need to remove that from your website.

Step 2 of 2: Resubmit your example product landing page

  1. In your Merchant Center account, click the Tools and settings icon Tools and settings menu icon [Gear] at the top right of the page.
  2. Under 'Tools', click Local inventory ads setup.
  3. Select your country and under 'Do you have up-to-date inventory information for your shops in {country name}?', select one of the following options:
