You can show, advertise, and sell a wide variety of products on Google using the product data that you have added in your Merchant Center account. You may, however, find that the number of products you’d like to show at any given time exceeds your capacity for showing products in a particular way. In this case, you will receive a notification in your Merchant Center account letting you know that you’ve met your capacity.
There are 4 types of capacities for products:
- Capacity for listing products on Google
- Capacity for advertising products on Google outside of CSS program countries
- Capacity for advertising products on Google in CSS program countries
Together, these types make up your overall capacity for products you can show on Google. Each time you add a product it counts against your capacity. For example, if you’d like to list and advertise the same product on Google, that product would count against your capacity for listing products as well as your capacity for advertising products.
After you’ve reached a capacity, additional products submitted for that specific use will not be processed. You may, however, submit those additional products for a different use, provided that alternative capacity has not yet been reached. For example, if you’ve met your capacity to advertise products on Google, but would still like to show additional products, you might choose to list those products instead of advertising them. After you’ve met your overall capacity, you won't be able to submit any additional products.
If you’d like to list, advertise, or sell additional products, but have already met your capacities, you may remove older products to make room for new products.
You may also be eligible for an increase in capacity after you meet your capacity for a specific use. To increase capacity, you can submit the Merchant Center: Request for additional quota of items, feeds or sub-accounts form.
