Bots are automatic programs you chat with, just like people.
They can help:
- Look up information
- Schedule a meeting
- Complete a task
Find bots and add them to Chat
- Open Gmail.
- In the Chat section, click Add.
- Find a bot you want to add, or enter the bot name in the search box.
- Click the bot card.
- Select an option:
- Message: This opens a direct message between you and the bot.
- Add to room: Click the rooms where you want to add the bot > Add.
Add bots in direct messages
- Open Gmail .
- In the Chat section, select a direct message.
- At the top, click Menu
next to the person, or list of people in the chat.
- Click Add bots.
- Enter the name of the bot, or select from the suggestions.
- Click Add.
Use bots to get help or give feedback
- Open Chat.
- Select an option:
- In a direct message between you and the bot, type Help.
- In a room with other people, enter @botname help. Botname is the name of the bot.
- Send Google a comment about the bot. Select an option:
- In a direct message with the bot, enter your comments in the feedback section.
- In a room or direct message, enter @botname > your feedback.
Remove bots
- Open Gmail.
- In the Chat section, next to the bot you want to remove, click Menu
