All photos must comply with the general Google Ads policies and Local Services Ads policies.

Business photos

Local Services Ads supports uploading business photos that meet the following guidelines:

File types: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, ICO, and WEBP	Resolution: 640 x 640 or greater	Maximum size: 10 MB
Owner: you must own the copyright for all images	Content: image content must be related to your business	Aspect ratio: The cover photo needs a 16:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 810 minimum size. You can change the aspect ratio of your photo using the image cropping and sizing tool on most phones or computers.

 

Types of photos that won't be accepted

Contains text or text overlays	References trademarked terms	Contains inappropriate content (e.g., pornographic content, violence, hate speech, profanity, etc.)
Features watermark of another business	Includes personal information (e.g. phone numbers, email address, office or home address)	Is low quality (e.g. out-of-focus, blurry, bad lighting, unrecognizable, screenshot)
Has frames, borders, or collages	Has transparent backgrounds	For legal verticals Includes clients or customers

 

Note: No personally identifying photos should be uploaded.

Headshots

Select verticals on Local Services including law, real estate, and finance have a main business headshot for their ad. They also optionally have headshots for individual professionals (e.g. lawyers, real estate agents, finance professionals) who show on the profile page.

Uploading guidelines for headshots

Local Services supports uploading headshots that meet the following guidelines:

File types: JPEG, PNG	Resolution: 500 x 500 or greater	Maximum size: 10 MB
Owner: You must own the copyright for all images	Content: Image content must be someone who works at your business	Aspect ratio: The photo needs to have a square aspect ratio. You can upload a photo that includes your head and Local Services will enable you to crop your image.

 

Examples of good and bad headshot photos

Shows the torso or below; should only show the head and shoulders	Face is not centered
Individual is not looking at the camera	Includes more than one person
Is not a person (e.g. logo, buildings, objects)	Is low quality
Contains text or text overlays	Has a non-neutral background
Is black & white or has excessive color filters applied
