Are there any additional accessories available for the Pixel Tablet?

Yes. Check the Google Store for all Pixel Tablet accessories, including:

Charging Speaker Dock: You can purchase a Pixel Tablet that comes with a Charging Speaker Dock. Docks are also available to purchase separately if you purchased a Pixel Tablet without a dock or want more than one dock in your home.
Pixel Tablet Case: The Pixel Tablet Case is sold separately. It's designed to protect your tablet and has an attached ring stand so that you can prop up your tablet when it's not attached to a dock. You can also dock and charge your Pixel Tablet without removing the case.

We also offer accessories from our Made For Google partners, including a dock-compatible case, a folio case and screen protector.

Why isn't the Pixel Tablet or its accessories available in my country?

Is the Pixel Tablet available from other retailers?

Yes, the Pixel Tablet is available from other retailers. Please check your local shops for availability.

What's the warranty period for the Pixel Tablet and Charging Speaker Dock?

One year: US, CA, JP

Yes. You can purchase Preferred Care for the Pixel Tablet and the Pixel Tablet with Charging Speaker Dock.

What's the operating system of the Pixel Tablet?

The Pixel Tablet runs on Android OS.

What's the OS update policy for the Pixel Tablet?

The OS update policy for the Pixel Tablet comes with:

Software version updates for at least three years.
Pixel security updates for at least five years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US. Updates may also include feature drops and other software updates.

I just got a Google Pixel Tablet. How do I set it up?

To set up your tablet, turn it on and connect it to a Wi-Fi network, then follow the on-screen instructions. Get detailed instructions on how to set up your Pixel Tablet.

What is Hub Mode?

Your Pixel Tablet goes into Hub Mode automatically when it's attached to a Charging Speaker Dock and locked. When you enable Assistant features in Hub Mode, you can cast videos or music with Chromecast Built-In. You can also control smart devices, enjoy a digital photo frame or screen saver, get hands-free help with Google Assistant, and more.

Can I stream videos on the Pixel Tablet?

Yes. You can stream videos from your favourite apps, including YouTube, Disney+, Max, Hulu and more. The Pixel Tablet also comes with Google TV.

Can I cast music and videos from my phone to the Pixel Tablet?

Yes. The Pixel Tablet is the first tablet with Chromecast Built-In. If your Pixel Tablet is attached to a Charging Speaker Dock, you can cast music and videos to it from a different device, like a phone. Learn how to cast media to or from your Pixel Tablet.

Does the Pixel Tablet have Google Assistant?

Yes, the Pixel Tablet has Google Assistant built in.

How can I tell when my Pixel Tablet is in Hub Mode?

To put your Pixel Tablet into Hub Mode, you need to attach it to a Charging Speaker Dock and lock the tablet. An animation with a sound effect will play when the tablet is successfully docked.

To verify that your tablet is docked, you can also open the Settings app

What are some examples of Hub Mode features on the Pixel Tablet?

Hub Mode features include media sharing, At a Glance notifications for traffic, weather, and upcoming events, screen saver customisation, hands-free help and media streaming when you enable Google Assistant, and more. Check and manage Hub Mode settings in the Settings app

What's the difference between the Pixel Tablet with Hub Mode and the Nest Hub Max?

Does the Pixel Tablet have a Nest Cam?

No. The Pixel Tablet's front and rear cameras do not have the home monitoring features of the Nest Hub or Google Nest camera. Learn more about the differences between Pixel Tablet and Nest Hub Max.

Compatibility

Does the Pixel Tablet have additional docking options or a wall mount?

No. Only the Charging Speaker Dock can be used to dock your Pixel Tablet. To charge your Pixel Tablet when it's away from its dock, use a USB-C cable and power adaptor to plug your tablet into a wall socket. Learn more about charging accessories.

How do I add compatible smart home devices to my Pixel Tablet?

When your tablet is locked, you can use the home panel on the Pixel Tablet to control and manage compatible smart devices. After you set up smart devices in the Google Home app, they appear on the home panel automatically.

When your Pixel Tablet is unlocked, open the Google Home app

on your tablet to check and control smart devices in your home.

Does the Pixel Tablet support multiple voice match profiles?

Voice match profiles for multiple users on the Pixel Tablet are not supported at this time. However, you can let guests speak to Google Assistant and stream media hands-free.

Can I make phone calls on the Pixel Tablet with a mobile data plan?

The Pixel Tablet does not support mobile data plans, and does not have native dialing app. To make a call on your tablet, you can use the Google Meet app

Can multiple people make Google Meet calls on the Pixel Tablet, like on a Nest display?

Yes. You can make video or voice calls on the Pixel Tablet with the Google Meet app . You can also make Google Meet calls with Google Assistant.

Note: Additional users need to sign in with their profile to make calls.

Is the Pixel Tablet a new version of the Pixel Slate?

No. The Pixel Tablet is a separate product with a different OS and features. The Pixel Slate is no longer available for purchase from the Google Store.

Hardware and specification questions

Can I use the Charging Speaker Dock as a standalone smart speaker?

No. The Charging Speaker Dock can't be used as a standalone smart speaker.

Why doesn't my Charging Speaker Dock have a USB-C^® connector?

The Charging Speaker Dock requires a minimum power level to deliver a good audio experience to users. If you purchase a Pixel Tablet that comes with a dock, a power supply is included to help ensure this.

How long does the Pixel Tablet battery last for?

Your Pixel Tablet's battery life depends on a number of conditions, including display brightness and which apps you're using. When your tablet isn't charging, its battery can last up to 12 hours when you stream media or watch video (or longer if you're doing less intensive activities). If you attach your Pixel Tablet to a Charging Speaker Dock when it's not in use, you'll rarely notice issues with battery life.

Can I use a Bluetooth keyboard or stylus with the Pixel Tablet?

Yes. You can use a third-party Bluetooth keyboard as an alternative to the on-screen keyboard. The Pixel Tablet is also compatible with third-party USI 2.0-compliant styluses.

Are the Pixel Tablet, Charging Speaker Dock and Pixel Tablet Case waterproof or water-resistant?

No. The Pixel Tablet, Charging Speaker Dock, and Pixel Tablet Case aren't water-resistant or waterproof. Liquid damage voids the limited warranty. Learn how to properly clean your Pixel Tablet, Charging Speaker Dock and accessories.

Are the Pixel Tablet, Charging Speaker Dock and Pixel Tablet Case dustproof?

No. The Pixel Tablet, Charging Speaker Dock and Pixel Tablet Case aren't dustproof.

Does the Pixel Tablet have haptic feedback?

No. The Pixel Tablet doesn't support haptic feedback.

Is face authentication supported on the Pixel Tablet?

Face authentication isn't supported on the Pixel Tablet. For secure access to your tablet, you can set up fingerprint unlock.

Does the Pixel Tablet support SIM cards for mobile data?

No. The Pixel Tablet doesn't support mobile data or SIM cards.

Does the Pixel Tablet support SD cards? Can I expand its storage?

The Pixel Tablet doesn't have an SD card slot, but if you run out of internal storage and cloud storage, extra cloud storage options are available.
