  • One year: US, CA, JP

What's the operating system and OS update policy of the Pixel Tablet?
The Pixel Tablet runs Android OS. The OS update policy for the Pixel Tablet comes with:
  • Software version updates for at least 3 years.
  • Pixel security updates for at least 5 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the U.S. Updates may also include feature drops and other software updates.

Can I stream videos on the Pixel Tablet?

Can I cast music and videos from my phone to the Pixel Tablet?

Does Gemini work on Pixel Tablet?

Yes, when you download the Gemini mobile app and set it up as your primary assistant, it will replace Google Assistant when your tablet is unlocked. Your Pixel Tablet will continue to use Google Assistant when locked, including when in Hub Mode. Learn more about Gemini and how it works.

Accessories

Are the Pixel Tablet and its accessories available for purchase in physical Google Store locations?

Yes. Check the Google Store for all Pixel Tablet accessories, including:

  • Charging Speaker Dock: You can purchase a Pixel Tablet that comes with a Charging Speaker Dock. Docks are also available to purchase separately if you purchased a Pixel Tablet without a dock or want more than one dock in your home.
  • Pixel Tablet Case: The Pixel Tablet Case is sold separately. It's designed to protect your tablet and has an attached ring stand so you can prop up your tablet when it's not attached to a dock. You can also dock and charge your Pixel Tablet without removing the case.

Can I use the Charging Speaker Dock as a standalone smart speaker?
No. The Charging Speaker Dock can't be used as a standalone smart speaker.
Does the Pixel Tablet have additional docking options or a wall mount?

No. Only the Charging Speaker Dock can be used to dock your Pixel Tablet.

Can I use a Bluetooth keyboard or stylus with the Pixel Tablet?
Yes. You can use a third-party Bluetooth keyboard as an alternative to the on-screen keyboard. The Pixel Tablet is also compatible with third-party USI 2.0-compliant styluses.
Why doesn't my Charging Speaker Dock have a USB-C® connector?
The Charging Speaker Dock requires a minimum power level to deliver a good audio experience to users. If you purchase a Pixel Tablet that comes with a dock, a power supply is included to help ensure this.

Smart home and Hub Mode

What is Hub Mode?

Your Pixel Tablet goes into Hub Mode automatically when it's locked and attached to a Charging Speaker Dock. You can enable Assistant features in Hub Mode to get features like the home panel, a digital photo frame, hands-free help from Google Assistant, and more. How can I tell when my Pixel Tablet is in Hub Mode?
To put your Pixel Tablet into Hub Mode, you need to attach it to a Charging Speaker Dock and lock the tablet. An animation with a sound effect will play when the tablet is successfully docked.
To verify that your tablet is docked, you can also open the Settings app Settings app and then tap Hub Mode and then Dock settings and then check for the word "Docked" under "Dock connected state."
How do I add compatible smart home devices to my Pixel Tablet?

You can set up smart home devices in the Google Home app to control them on your Pixel Tablet. Learn how to set up Google devices in the Google Home app.

Once your smart home devices are set up, you can use your voice, the Google Home appGoogle Home app, or the home panel to check and control smart devices in your home. Learn how to set up the home panel on your Pixel Tablet.
Does the Pixel Tablet have a Nest Cam?

Hardware, specifications, and compatibility questions

Does the Pixel Tablet support SIM cards for mobile data?
No. The Pixel Tablet doesn't support mobile data or SIM cards.

Does the Pixel Tablet support SD cards? Can I expand its storage?
The Pixel Tablet doesn't have an SD card slot, but if you run out of internal storage and cloud storage, extra cloud storage options are available.
Can I make phone calls on the Pixel Tablet with a mobile data plan?

How long does the Pixel Tablet battery last?

Your Pixel Tablet's battery life depends on a number of conditions, including display brightness and which apps you're using. When your tablet isn't charging, its battery can last up to 12 hours when you stream media or watch video (or longer if you're doing less intensive activities). If you attach your Pixel Tablet to a Charging Speaker Dock when it's not in use, you'll rarely notice issues with battery life.

Does the Pixel Tablet support multiple voice match profiles?

Does the Pixel Tablet have haptic feedback?
No. The Pixel Tablet doesn't support haptic feedback.
Is face authentication supported on the Pixel Tablet?
