As the family manager, you can invite up to 5 people to join your family group. You can also remove people from your family group, or delete the family group.
Add family members
For a family member to join, they need to live in the same country as you.
You can invite family members who are 13 (or the applicable age in your country) or older to join your family using the steps below. You'll get an email notification when someone joins your family. To invite family members:
Mobile or web browser
- Visit the Your family on Google page.
- Click Invite family member.
- Enter your family member's email address.
- Click Send.

- Open the Play Store app

- In the top left, tap Menu

.
- At the top, tap Settings.
- Tap Manage family

Google Assistant app
- On your Android phone or tablet, tap and hold the Home button, or say “OK Google.”
- In the bottom right, tap Explore

- In the top right, tap your profile picture or initial
Settings.
- Under the “You” tab, tap Your People
Add person.
- Select the contact you would like to add to your family group.
- Turn on Family group and tap Add.
Remove family members
If you're the family manager, you can remove people from your family group.
- The person you remove from your family group keeps their Google Account. Content purchased using the family payment method remains on their device.
- The person you remove will get an email alert when they've been removed.
- The person you remove won't be able to make new purchases using the family payment method, or access any services shared by your family group.
- If purchases they made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
- If you set up Google Play Family Library, any content they added will be removed, and other family members will lose access to that content. The person you remove will also lose access to anything in your Family Library.
- If your family shares a Google One membership, the person you remove will stop using your shared storage. If they're out of storage, their files will stay safe but they won't be able to store new things. Learn more about what happens when they run out of space.
- The person you remove will also lose access to extra member benefits and Google experts.
Remove supervised children
If you created a Google Account for a family member who is under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), or you have provided consent for a child's continued use of their Google Account, you need to delete their Google Account to remove them from the family.
Older children
If your family member is 13 or over (or the applicable age in your country), and you and your child chose to manage their account with Family Link, their Google Account and/or devices will no longer be supervised once they’re removed from the family group.

- Tap the name of the family member you want to remove.
- Tap Remove member.

- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google One app

- At the top, tap Settings.
- Tap Manage family

- Tap Remove member.

- Under the “You” tab, tap Your People
Your Google family group.
- Tap the name of the family member you'd like to remove
Remove X.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to remove your this person from your family group.
Delete your family group
If you're the family manager, you can delete your family group.
- Everyone from your family group keeps their Google Accounts, and anything they purchased using the family payment method.
- If you set up Google Play Family Library, everyone from your family group loses access to the Family Library content that other family members added.
- If any purchases your family members made using the family payment method are pending, you'll still be charged for them. However, you can request a refund for unwanted or accidental purchases.
- If you subscribed to a family plan, your family will lose access to that service.
- If your family shares a Google One membership, your family will lose access to the shared storage. If your family members run out of storage, their files will stay safe but they won't be able to store new things. Learn more about what happens when they run out of space.
- Your family will also lose access to extra member benefits and Google experts.
- If you delete your family group, you'll only be able to create or join another family group one more time in the next 12 months.
Family groups with supervised children
If you created a Google Account for a family member who is under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), or you have provided consent for a child's continued use of their Google Account, you need to delete their Google Account before you can delete your family group.
Older children
If your family group includes a child over 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and you and your child chose to manage their account with Family Link, their Google Account and/or devices will no longer be supervised after the family group is deleted.
