How to connect your Nest product to a hidden Wi-Fi network

If your Wi-Fi's network name is hidden, you need to manually enter your Wi-Fi network information in the Nest app. Select your product below for instructions.

Tips before you start

  • Have your hidden network’s name, password and security type to hand. If you’re unsure, you can check your Wi-Fi network or router's settings. See your router’s manual for specific instructions.
  •  If your Nest product doesn't connect the first time, double check your network name, password and security type, then enter the information again. Bear in mind that Wi-Fi network names and passwords are case-sensitive.
  • To add a lot of Nest products to the Nest app quicker, make your hidden network name visible temporarily. Check your router's manual to learn how to hide or unhide your Wi-Fi network's name. You might also find instructions online if you search for the model of your router.
