Google Ads promotional offers

Promotional offers are typically redeemed for a monetary credit that can be added to an advertiser's account once they meet any necessary criteria. Google or our partners will occasionally offer promotional offers to encourage new advertisers to get started with Google Ads or existing advertisers to attain new goals. Google support can’t provide promotional offers upon request.

How it works

  • To use most promotional offers, your account needs to meet certain criteria. The terms and conditions for each offer vary by promotion, so make sure that you check the details in the promotion terms and conditions.
  • Progress towards earning the promotional credit can be viewed on the Google Ads homepage or within the Promotions page.
  • Upon the promotional credit being added to the advertiser's account, the advertiser typically has 60 days to spend their earned credit.
  • Existing advertiser promotions need to be applied within the timeframe outlined in the promotion Terms and Conditions.

New advertiser promotions

New advertiser promotions are granted to advertisers who are using Google Ads for the first time. These promotions typically require advertisers to spend a specified amount on advertising to receive a specified amount in credit.

  • Most new advertiser promotions are redeemed at sign up.
  • New advertisers promotions typically require spend to be completed within 60 days to be eligible for the credit.
  • After completing the required spend, there is an up to 35-day verification period that confirms an advertiser is new to Google before they are eligible to receive their earned credit.

You’re considered a new advertiser if you’re creating an account for a business that has never advertised with Google Ads or if you’re expanding an existing business to a different country (with a new billing address).

Example
Sarah is an entrepreneur in the United States who opened a restaurant last year and launched a Google Ads account to help promote her business. After finding success on the platform, she decides to create a new Google Ads account to promote her consulting firm. Sarah’s restaurant and consulting firm are both eligible for a new advertiser promotional offer. Additionally, if either of these businesses expand to another country with a new billing address (for example, Sarah expands her restaurant to Brazil), the operation in a new country would be eligible for a new advertiser offer.

Existing advertiser promotions

Existing advertiser promotions are offered to current advertisers who qualify for the promotion or former advertisers who were previously active and spending on Google. These promotions typically require advertisers to:

  • Spend a specified amount on a specific campaign type to receive a specified amount in credit.
  • Complete a specified action to receive a specified amount in credit.
  • Spend and complete a specified action to receive a specified amount in credit.

You’re considered an existing advertiser if you have had active spend on Google Ads in the last 6 months.

Example
John has used Google Ads to promote his hair care business for the past 3 months. He could be eligible for existing advertiser offers.
