You can run campaigns on YouTube TV through YouTube Select, Google Ads, and Display and Video 360, as long as you meet certain eligibility conditions and comply with Google Ads policies, YouTube TV policies, and any applicable partner ad guidelines, including our network partners.
How it works
YouTube TV is available and can be booked on a reservation basis through YouTube Select reserved media placement, Display and Video 360 Instant Reserve, or Google Ads auction. To be eligible for YouTube TV, you must meet the following requirements:
- Buy 15-second non-skippable in-stream ads or 6-second bumper ads using a Target cost-per-thousand impression (tCPM) bidding strategy.
- Buy 30-second skippable in-stream ads using a tCPM bidding strategy.
- Your ads are cleared of music rights claims.
If you want to guarantee that your campaigns will serve on YouTube TV, you must buy the available placements in YouTube Select lineups, YouTube TV lineups, or ad packages in YouTube TV Sports Lineup through reservation.
Eligible categories
All categories are eligible to serve on YouTube TV, as long as they comply with Google Ads policies, YouTube TV policies, and any applicable partner ad guidelines, including our network partners.
If you’ll be running political and election ads, there are a number of policies that you must comply with to determine final eligibility to serve:
- Google Ads-wide policies
- You must comply with local legal requirements.
- You must ensure that you’re verified under the Election Ads verification or Advertiser Identity verification.
- Note: You need to be approved to serve on reservation campaigns.
- YouTube TV-specific policies
- Your ad must include a federal and legally qualified candidate.
- Your ad must contain the following disclosures for at least 4 seconds in a readable and contrasting font:
- If the ad is paid for by a candidate or the candidate’s campaign:
- It must state that the ad was approved by the paying candidate.
- It must state that it was paid for by the candidate or the candidate’s campaign.
- If the ad isn’t paid by a candidate or the candidate’s campaign directly:
- It must state that the message was not approved by the candidate or by any candidate.
- It must state that it was paid for by the advertiser’s name.
- If the ad is paid for by a candidate or the candidate’s campaign:

Campaigns and impressions
Your Google Ads auction and Display and Video 360 Instant Reserve campaigns are eligible to serve on YouTube TV if you’ve purchased the available ad formats and complied with Google Ads policies, YouTube TV policies, and any applicable partner ad guidelines, including our network partners.
You can check your Google Ads placement report to review how many impressions served on YouTube TV. The impressions will fluctuate over time based on your targeting. To guarantee a certain number of YouTube TV impressions, you must buy placements in the YouTube TV lineups.
