Publisher purchased, organic and unknown clicks: Definition

You can create custom reports of specific campaigns using report editor in the Insights and reports drop-down menu. Learn how to add and view reporting for publisher purchased clicks.

  • Publisher purchased clicks measure the count of ad clicks from paid third-party traffic to the site where the ad is published. Ad clicks are measured by traffic to the publisher site redirected from properties that are not owned, acquired or otherwise incentivised activity.
  • Publisher organic clicks measure the count of ad clicks collected from unpaid and owned traffic to the publisher site. It measures traffic that has not been redirected from unowned properties.
  • Publisher unknown clicks measure the count of clicks not definitively identified as organic or purchased.

This segmentation in Google Ads provides transparency and will help you view your ad clicks from purchased and non-purchased traffic to the publisher site, where your ad appears.

Note that these custom segments are available at the campaign level only in display campaigns.
