Allow-ads estimated earnings

The sum of estimated earnings from ads attributable to pageviews where a user: 

  1. Had an ad blocker installed.
  2. Saw the ad blocker message.
  3. Allowed ads on the site.

Estimated earnings:

  • Include ads served via Google Publisher Tags (GPT) only. These tags are the primary source of Ad Manager traffic.
  • Include both reservation and programmatic ads, and tend to be more accurate for programmatic ads. Calculations for reservation ads use the "Cost" entered when setting up the line item in Ad Manager, and may vary accordingly.
  • Do not take into account ads served by adsbygoogle, typically used by AdSense publishers.
  • Are calculated by averaging earnings on a daily basis, which are summed over the time period of the report.
  • Are displayed as zero (0) if the result of the metric calculation is negative.
  • Are based on data collection that began on September 13, 2019.
  • Take into account publisher revenue share.
  • May be adjusted for ad spam and other factors.
 
Ad blocker eligible pageviews

The number of pageviews where ad blocking either was or was not occurring, including network-level ad blocking. Excludes pageviews where the ad blocking detection script didn't run (for example, because the browser was incompatible).

Extension rate

The rate of pageviews where users had ad blocker extensions installed.

(Extension ad blocker pageviews) / (Eligible pageviews)

An example
If total pageviews are 100,000, and 15,000 are extension ad blocker pageviews, then the ad blocking extension rate is 15%. (15,000 / 100,000 = 15%)

Network ad blocking rate

The rate of pageviews where users had a network-level ad blocker.

(Network ad blocker pageviews) / (Eligible pageviews)

An example

If total pageviews are 100,000, and 1,000 are network ad blocker pageviews, then the network ad blocking rate is 1%. (1,000 / 100,000 = 1%)

Ad blocker allow-ads pageviews

The number of pageviews of users that had an ad blocker installed, saw the ad blocker message, and subsequently allowed ads. 

An example

A user viewed your site four months ago with an ad blocker extension installed, and saw the Funding Choices ad blocker message. They then allowed ads on your site. Their subsequent visits are therefore logged as "ad blocker allow-ads pageviews." If you choose the last 30 days as the report time frame, pageviews of this user during the last 30 days are included in this metric.

Ad blocker allow-ads conversions (cookie-based)

The number of users that saw an ad blocker message on a previous visit and then allowed ads on your site. 

Note: the previous visit may have occurred prior to the reporting period.

The conversion rate (based on browser cookies) of users that saw the ad blocker message and then allowed ads.

Users may have seen the ad blocker message prior to or during the report time frame.
