California Consumer Privacy Act

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a data privacy regulation that requires you to give users in California, United States, the choice to opt out of the sale of their personal information.

Funding Choices offers a CCPA solution to help publishers gather opt-outs of the sale of users’ personal information. The CCPA message displays a “do not sell my personal data” link and communicates visitor decisions via ad tags.

Reporting is an integral part of the Funding Choices offering. For CCPA opt-outs, you can view metrics such as the number of times the DNS link is shown, the DNS click-through rate, and more.

IAB framework

The Funding Choices CCPA solution uses the IAB framework to transmit the opt-out decisions from end users to vendors on the page.

Because Google is not a signatory of the IAB Limited Service Provider Agreement (LSPA), the flag in the CCPA string that indicates whether or not a publisher is a signatory to the LSPA is always set to “false”/”no”.
