My account isn’t eligible for Project Fi

If you have trouble signing up for Project Fi, it may be because your Google Voice or Google Account isn’t eligible. In some cases, you can make changes to make it eligible. In other cases, you need to use a different Google Account.

Issue with payments

I don’t have a valid U.S. address on payments.google.com
Project Fi is only available in the U.S. You need a valid U.S. address in payments.google.com. Learn how to change your address.
I have a Google Payments Merchant Account registered outside the U.S.
Google Payment Merchant Accounts registered outside the U.S. aren’t eligible for Project Fi. You need to sign up for a new Google Account

Accounts that work with Project Fi

Most Google Accounts can be used with Project Fi, including:

  • Google Accounts with "@gmail.com" email addresses.
  • Some work or school accounts that use your own domain name (see below). 
  • Other Google Accounts, like "@yahoo.com" or "@hotmail.com" email addresses.

Google Accounts for work or school

If you have a work or school Google Account, also known as G Suite,  your administrator has to turn on Project Fi service first. Otherwise, sign up with a new Google Account to use Project Fi.
