Archive and delete a class

This page is for teachers. Students go here.

At the end of a semester or a school year, you can archive a class to preserve the class materials, assignments, and any posts. When you archive a class, you no longer see it among your other classes and work—it's moved to a separate area to help keep your current classes organized. Unarchived classes continue to show up as active classes for students. So, you can archive a class to help keep your students organized, too.

Note: To delete a class, you must archive it first and then delete it.

Archive a class

You and your students can view an archived class, but you can't modify it until it's restored. You can still access any archived class files in Google Drive.

  1. Sign in to Classroom with your Google Account.

For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. On the class card, click More More and then Archive.
