Schedule a bulk edit or automated rule

If you want to automatically change a setting for more than one Search Ads 360 ad, keyword, or other item,  you can schedule a one-time or recurring change when you set up a bulk edit or automated rule.

For example, you can:

  • Activate ads or keywords at midnight to coincide with the launch of a promotion.
  • Change ad copy to coincide with the beginning of summer.
  • Lower bids on keywords during weekends or overnight, and raise them during week days.
  • Decrease the mobile bid adjustment percentage for all campaigns with a specific label if a percentage of the budget is spent.

If you only want the change to be temporary, you can also specify when to revert the change. This allows you to keep your regular working hours and still have Search Ads 360 make needed changes any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To help you keep track of your edits, you can name each scheduled edit something that's meaningful to you. The name appears in the list of your scheduled edits

Important details about scheduled edits

  • Scheduled edits aren't subject to the permissions of the Search Ads 360 users who set them up. Unless a scheduled edit is paused or removed, Search Ads 360 will continue to run a scheduled edit, even if the user who set up the edit is removed from Search Ads 360 or the user's permissions change.
To see which user set up a scheduled edit, click Scheduled edits in the left navigation pane and view the Who column.

  • Once you save the bulk edit or automated rule, you can't change the schedule. You can only pause, resume, or remove the edit or rule.
  • Leave enough time in the schedule for edits or automated rules to complete before starting additional edits. That is, if you're scheduling multiple edits or rules, make sure the first edit has plenty of time to complete before the next edit begins. If the edits are scheduled too closely together, the later edit could base its calculations on values and settings that end up being changed by the earlier edit.

Create a schedule

  1. Navigate to the scope that contains the objects that you want to edit.
  2. Set up a bulk edit or automated rule.

Note: Any filters you specify are reapplied each time an edit or rule runs. For example, if you use a filter to display only active campaigns, a bulk edit only applies to active campaigns. If you pause some of those campaigns later, any subsequent run of the bulk edit will not apply to the campaigns you paused.

  3. Specify the type of schedule.

    • To schedule the edit to occur at a specific time

      1. Under Start, select At later time.
      2. Specify the start date and time.

The time zone matches the setting in your browser.
    • To schedule a recurring edit

      1. Under Start, select Recurring.
      2. Select the frequency of the edit.
      3. Specify the time the edit should occur.
      4. Optional. Select the timezone. The default setting matches the engine account setting or your browser.

Don't see the schedule options? Your user role may not have permissions to schedule edits or set up automated rules.

  4. Enter a name that's meaningful to you.

  5. If needed, use the Revert option to undo the changes at a certain time.
  6. Specify when to send alerts about the edits.

    • Every time a change is attempted
    • Only if changes occur
    • Only if there are problems
  7. Enter the email addresses of the users to be notified of these changes.

Search Ads 360 will send email when the scheduled edit completes.

  8. Click Save.

Search Ads 360 will perform the bulk edit or apply the rule according to the schedule.
