When you turn on privacy protection for your domain, a privacy provider’s contact information replaces the registrant’s personal contact information in the WHOIS directory. If you turn off privacy protection, the registrant’s personal contact information is available to the public in the WHOIS directory. Learn more about privacy protection.
- Open Google Domains.
- Select the name of your domain.
- Open the Menu .
- Click Registration settings.
- Turn privacy protection on or off.
Make all contact information public for .com, .net & .fr
.com and .net
If you have privacy protection turned off in Google Domains, the following information isn’t published in WHOIS:
- Organization name
- State/province
- Country/region
To publish all of your personal contact information publicly with .com and .net domain endings, follow these steps:
- Open Google Domains.
- Select the name of your domain.
- Open the Menu .
- Click Registration settings.
- If “Privacy protection is on,” turn off the switch to confirm “Privacy protection is turned off.”
- Click Make all contact info public.
Important: Based on the registry’s policy, there may be a difference between the information we publish and what the registry publishes.
.fr
Due to the publication policies set by AFNIC, the following applies to .fr domain names:
- Domain names ending in .fr are not eligible for privacy protection.
- Contact information for individual registrants is hidden in the WHOIS directory, unless you make your information public.
- Contact information for organization registrants is shown in the WHOIS directory. A registrant is considered an organization whether there’s information provided in the Organization field for the registrant, administrative, or technical contact.
For individual registrants, you may publish all your personal contact information publicly with a .fr domain ending. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open Google Domains.
- Select the name of your domain.
- Open the Menu .
- Click Registration settings.
- If “Privacy protection is on,” turn off the switch to confirm “Privacy protection is turned off.”
- Click Make all contact info public.
