Google Vids is an AI-powered video creation app for work. Use Vids to create, write, produce, edit, collaborate and share your videos.

Important:
- New features for Vids are rolling out gradually and may not be available to you yet.
- Videos created with Google Vids have a maximum duration of 10 minutes. Limits are subject to change. Learn about limits for Google Vids.

Learn about browser compatibility with Google VidsYou can use Vids on your computer with the two most recent versions of these browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Windows only: Microsoft Edge
Other browsers may work, but you might not be able to use all of the features.
Tip: Currently, you can't edit or comment in Vids in Safari. You can use playback after a video has been processed.

Create a new video
You can create a new video or make a new version of a video already created in Vids by copying and editing a video that's already been made.
- On your computer, open a new video in Google Vids.
- Tip: To quickly open a new video, type vids.new in your browser's address bar and press Enter.

- Record yourself, your screen or both
- Build your video with a video, audio or screen recording. Learn more about adding video clips using the Vids recording studio.
- Upload
- Upload your own clips and images. Learn more about uploading video clips, GIFs or images.
- Start with a template
- Build your video based on a template that you have selected. Learn more about building a video from a template.
- Import Slides
- Create a video to read a Google Slides presentation. Each slide becomes a scene, and speaker notes are imported as the scripts for each scene. Learn how to use Google Slides with Google Vids.
- Plan your video story*
Tip: To start a video from scratch, select 'Blank vid' or click close to close the window and open your new video.
*If your account doesn't have access to AI features in Google Vids, these options won't appear on the 'Getting started' screen. Learn about Google Vids availability.
Copy a video
You can copy an existing video in Google Vids to build a new or updated version.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- Click File

Edit and format a video
You can add, edit or format text, images or videos in each scene, as well as customise transitions between scenes.

Share and collaborate with Vids
You can share your videos and select whether collaborators can view, edit or comment on them.
You can choose to share videos created in Vids as:
- Google Vids files
- MP4s in Google Drive
- MP4s downloaded to your device
Tip: To collaborate with others on your video, share as a Google Vids file and choose an access level:
- Commenters: Can add comments to the video but can't make changes to the video.
- Editors: Can add comments and make changes to the video.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- In the top right-hand corner, click Share
.
- Add the people, groups or events that you want to share your file with.
- Click the drop-down that appears after you've added people to select the access level:
- Viewer
- Commenter
- Editor
- Click Send.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- In the top right-hand corner next to Share
, click Quick sharing options
.
- To export as an MP4 to Drive, click Export to Drive
.
- To open the MP4 file in Drive, click Open now.
- To update access and find the link to your file:
- Open the MP4 file.
- In the top right-hand corner, click Share
.
- On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
- In the menu, click File
Download as MP4.
- The file will download as an MP4 file that you can share with others to watch.
Watch a video shared with you
Anyone with a Google Account can view a video shared with Google Vids.
Tip: To access Google Vids on your mobile device, you can use a compatible web browser. You can watch processed videos on your mobile device, but you can't edit or add comments to videos.
