Resubmit creatives for approval

All creatives have to be approved before they can be served by line items. New creatives are automatically reviewed once they're assigned to an active line item.

When a creative is rejected, in most cases you can make changes to the creative and save it to automatically restart the creative review process.

In some cases, you may need to manually resubmit the creative to restart the process. For example, if your creative is rejected because of a problem with the landing page there may not be any changes needed to the creative. After the landing page has been fixed by the advertiser's web designer, you can resubmit the creative for approval to restart the creative review process.

You can resubmit rejected creatives for approval in your advertiser's Creatives page or from the Creative status tab of a creative.

Before you resubmit

  • Make sure you've reviewed any feedback in the Creative status tab to learn why your creative was rejected and fixed the problem.
  • You can resubmit each creative for approval up to 5 times each. After 5 times, you'll need to contact support for assistance.
  • When you resubmit, the creative review process will restart. Resubmitted creatives will go back to pending status and can't serve until they're either servable or approved. If all of the creatives assigned to a line item are pending, the line item can't spend.

Resubmit one creative

Follow these steps if you only need to resubmit one creative:

  1. Open the creative you want to resubmit.
  2. Click Creative status.
  3. Click Resubmit for approval, then select one of the following options:
    • To resubmit only selected creatives that are either pending or rejected, click All pending or rejected. If you selected any creatives that are already approved, they'll remain approved and won't be resubmitted.

    • To restart only Display & Video 360's review process, click Display & Video 360 & Google Ad Manager.

    • To restart review on a specific exchange, select the name of an exchange. When restarting exchange reviews, all creatives will be reset to pending status (even approved creatives).

Resubmit more than one creative

When you need to resubmit more than one creative, follow these steps to save time:

  1. Open an advertiser, then click Creativeand thenCreatives in the left menu.

  2. Select the creatives you want to submit for approval.

  3. Click Resubmit for approval, then select one of the following options:

    • To resubmit only selected creatives that are either pending or rejected, click All pending or rejected. If you selected any creatives that are already approved, they'll remain approved and won't be resubmitted.

    • To restart only Display & Video 360's review process, click Display & Video 360 & Google Ad Manager.

    • To restart review on a specific exchange, select the name of an exchange. When restarting exchange reviews, all creatives will be reset to pending status (even approved creatives).
