Introducing Chrome OS M134 to The Stable Channel
Announcement
Hello Chromebook Community,
You should soon see an update on your device for ChromeOS M134! Here’s a list of new features and changes you’ll notice when you update to this new version of Chrome.
- Slow Keys
Slow Keys is an accessibility feature designed to assist individuals with limited dexterity in typing more accurately. This feature is particularly helpful for those who have conditions such as tremors, arthritis, or numbness in their fingertips, which can make it difficult to press keys with precision.Slow Keys works by introducing a delay, requiring keys to be held down for a set amount of time before they are registered. This will prevent unintended keystrokes from being pressed.
- GIFs with Quick Insert
Quick Insert will soon support direct GIF insertion! Quickly add GIFs to your messages and documents without leaving the Quick Insert menu. For more details, see Use Quick Insert to add & create content.
- Assistive experiences on Chromebooks are now powered by Gemini
Starting in M134, assistive experiences on Chromebooks will be powered by Gemini. When triggering Assistant, you will automatically be directed to the Gemini app on your Chromebook.
As always, please share any feedback you have by using the instructions here, and if you encounter any bugs or issues, please feel free to create a new thread on this forum!
Friendly Reminder: This update and the features associated with it, will be progressively rolling out over the coming days. Your device may not immediately be eligible for this update.
Best,
Ellen - On behalf of ChromeOS
