Add people to your Chromebook
You can let your friends and family sign in to your Chromebook using their Google Accounts. This way, they can use all of Google's web services (like Gmail and Google Drive) using their own accounts, rather than yours.
Add a person to your Chromebook
To add a person to your Chromebook:
- On the sign-in screen, click Add person.
- Enter the Google Account email address and password, then click Next.
If you don't have a Google Account to add, create one. On some Chromebooks, you can click More options > Create new account.
- Choose a picture. You can update the picture after you sign in.
The sign-in screen can show up to 18 accounts. If your Chromebook runs out of hard drive space, it might remove an account or some accounts that haven't been used recently.
If you're borrowing a friend's Chromebook and you see the message "Sorry, you don't have permission to sign in," your friend might need to add your account.
If you're having trouble signing in, use the sign-in troubleshooter.
To let your friend use your Chromebook without an account, browse as a guest.
Using your Chromebook at work or school? You might only be able to sign in with your work account and not with other accounts (for example, your personal Gmail account). Learn about using a managed Chromebook.
