View Chrome version details

For administrators who manage Chrome browser or ChromeOS devices for a business or school.

As an administrator, you can use the Google Admin console to see which versions of Chrome browser and Chrome OS are running on devices in your organization.

Before you begin

See version details

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devicesand thenChrome.
  3. Go to Reportsand thenVersions.
  4. To show all devices, check the Include all organizational units box. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit.
  5. Click the major release version number to see details about minor versions.

About the versions page

On the Chrome versions page, you can see the following details for each Chrome version that’s installed on devices where Chrome sent a report in the previous 28 days.

Field Description
Version Version of Chrome OS or Chrome browser.
Windows Number of browsers on Microsoft Windows devices that have the version installed.
macOS Number of browsers on Apple macOS devices that have the version installed.
Linux Number of browsers on Linux devices that have the version installed.
Chrome OS Number Chrome OS devices that have the version installed.
Total Total number of devices that have the version installed

Note: In enterprise environments, some devices might have multiple browsers installed, such as Stable and Beta versions. Each individual browser is counted as a separate instance.

Download the versions report data

You can download the versions report as a CSV file.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devicesand thenChrome.
  3. Click Reportsand thenVersions.
  4. To show all versions, click All managed devices and browsers. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit.
  5. At the top right, click Export.
    A link appears in the top right when ready, under Your tasks.
  6. Click Download CSV.
  7. Use Google Sheets, or your preferred spreadsheet software, to open the CSV file. For details, see Import data sets & spreadsheets.
