Reopen a location

You can easily reopen a location that has been marked as permanently closed.

Note: If your business has been marked permanently closed as part of a location or name change, don't reopen the listing. Instead, create a new listing for that business.

If you have only one listing

  1. Sign in to Google My Business.
  2. Click Info from the menu.
  3. Under “Reopen or remove this listing”, click Reopen this listing.

The listing will no longer appear as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

If you have multiple listings

  1. Sign in to Google My Business.
  2. From the list of locations, select one or more locations that you want to reopen.
  3. On the toolbar above, click Actions, then click Open. (If you see a three-dot menu  icon, click that icon, then click Mark as open.)
  4. In the dialogue that appears, click Mark as open.

The location(s) will no longer appear as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

If you're using the mobile app

  1. Open the Google My Business app.
  2. If you have multiple locations, go to the homepage of the location that you want to reopen.
  3. Tap Profile.
  4. Tap Permanently closed.
  5. In the dialogue that appears, tap No.
  6. Tap Save

The location will no longer appear as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

Locations reported as open

You might see a “Reported as open” notification if Google has updates indicating that a location previously marked as permanently closed is now open.

To confirm:

  1. Click Reported as open.
  2. Click Confirm open.
  3. Click Review to confirm the status.

The location will no longer appear as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

Has your business mistakenly been marked “Permanently closed (location moved)”? Contact support to reopen it.
