Reopen a location

You can easily reopen a location that has been marked as permanently closed.

Tip: If your business was marked permanently closed as part of a location or name change, don't reopen the Business Profile. Instead, create a new profile

If you have only one Business Profile

  1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.
  2. In the menu on the left,  click Info
  3. Under “Reopen or remove this profile,” click Reopen this listing.

The profile is no longer marked as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

If you have multiple profiles

  1. On your computer, sign in to Google My Business.
  2. From the list of locations, select the locations that you want to reopen.
  3. On the toolbar near the top, click Actions and then Open.
  4. Click More More and then Mark as open.
  5. In the dialog that appears, click Mark as open.

The location(s) will no longer appear as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

Locations reported as open

You might get a “Reported as open” notification if Google has updates that a location previously marked as permanently closed is now open.

  1. From the notification, click Reported as open and then Confirm open.
  2. To confirm the status, click Review.

Tip: To reopen your business that’s mistakenly marked “Permanently closed (location moved),” contact support.
