Mark a location permanently closed

If any of your locations permanently closes, you can mark it “Permanently closed” on Google to keep your customers up to date.

If you have only one Business Profile

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google My Business app .
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile and then  View all.
  3. Tap Mark as permanently closed and then Yes and then Save.

The profile now displays as “Permanently closed” on Google Maps and Search.

If you have multiple profiles

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google My Business app .
    • If you have multiple locations, go to the location that you want to mark "Permanently closed."
  2. At the bottom, tap Profile and then View all.
  3. Tap Mark as permanently closed and then Yes and then Save.

The locations now display as permanently closed on Google Maps and Search.

If your business location is reported as closed

You might get a “Reported as permanently closed” notification if Google has updates that a location has permanently closed. 

  1. Tap Overview and then Profile and then View all.
  2. Tap Reported as permanently closed and then Mark as permanently closed and then Save.

The profile now displays as “Permanently closed” on Google Maps and Search.

Tip: If any of your locations are mistakenly marked permanently closed, you can reopen the location.
