About Ads and Google Accounts managed with Family Link for children under 13 or the applicable age in their country

Parents can create a Google Account for children under 13 or the applicable age in their country and manage it with Family Link. With these accounts, children have access to Google products such as Search, Maps and Gmail. While signed into their account, users of the Family Link child accounts might see ads on certain Google products and on third-party sites and apps.

Advertisers can't target ads to show only to children under 13 or the applicable age in their country, or serve personalised advertising to children under 13 or the applicable age in their country.  However, as an advertiser, you can request to have your ads excluded from showing to signed-in users under 13 or the applicable age in their country through this form. This exclusion will apply to your Search, Display and Shopping ads in Google Ads when Google recognises a user under 13 or the applicable age in their country.

Note: Google will not personalise ads to children who live in the European Union before they reach at least the applicable age of consent in their country. Children who had supervision added to their previously existing Google Account will be able to adjust settings to control the ads that they see once personalised ads are available to be served to them.
