Add dimensions to your report tables

Dimensions, along with metrics and filters, determine what data is shown in your reports. Dimensions help you to break down report data by certain attributes, such as the ad format or the platform an ad was viewed on. Add multiple dimensions to your reports to further refine your data.

The default reports found at the top of your Reports page contain different sets of metrics. When you start a new report, it’s a good idea to consider these differences before deciding which report to start from.

AdMob Network report dimensions

The following dimensions are available for the AdMob Network report and saved reports that use it as a template.

  • Date: View performance by date.
  • Week: View performance by week.
  • Month: View performance by month.
  • App: View performance by app.
  • Ad unit: View performance for individual ad units.
  • Country: View performance broken down by country of visitors that have viewed ads on your app.
  • Format: View performance by ad format (e.g., banner, interstitial).
  • Platform: View performance broken down by device platform.
    • Android
    • iOS
  • Ad type: View performance by ad type (e.g., text, image).
  • Bid type: View performance by bid type. See how advertisers are paying for the ads on your app -- cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-thousand impressions (CPM).
  • Targeting type: View performance by targeting type. See how ads are matched to your apps -- through contextual, placement-based, and interest-based targeting, or using details inferred about your app when user data is unavailable.
If you request only non-personalized ads for EU users, you may still see ads under the “Personalized” targeting type in reports, even when user data isn’t being used. This is because the “Personalized” targeting type in reports may include contextual targeting when user data, such as device ID, isn’t available.

Mediation report dimensions

The following metrics are available in the Mediation report and saved reports that use it as a template.

  • Ad source: View performance by ad source. Ad source measures mediation traffic, and it can include direct sales, custom events, house ads, or third-party ad networks.
  • Date: View performance by date.
  • Week: View performance by week.
  • Month: View performance by month.
  • App: View performance by app.
  • Ad unit: View performance for individual ad units.
  • Country: View performance broken down by the country of visitors that have viewed ads on your app.
  • Format: View performance by ad format (e.g., Banner, Interstitial).
If you've upgraded ad units from legacy AdMob, you may also see "Any" listed under format. This indicates that the ad unit could request either banner or interstitial ads. This only applies to ad units that were upgraded from legacy AdMob (pre-2014), and all new ad units created in AdMob will be either banner or interstitial.
  • Platform: View performance broken down by device platform.
    • Android
    • iOS

Change the displayed dimensions

Not all available dimensions are displayed in reports by default. You can edit the Report table to select different dimensions to display.

Complete the following steps to change which dimensions are shown in your report:

  1. While viewing your report, click Edit at the top of the Report table to open the list of available dimensions and metrics.
  2. Click the dimensions you want to add or remove from your report. The selected dimensions will be displayed in the report automatically.
  3. Click Edit to close the list of available dimensions and metrics.

The order of dimensions in the report depends on the order you add them. You have the flexibility to add or remove dimensions in any order you want.
