Reserve and release inventory

You can reserve inventory at any time during the negotiation process for guaranteed campaigns. If you don't, Ad Manager automatically creates a corresponding order and line items and reserves inventory when the buyer accepts a proposal.

If the buyer accepted, Ad Manager has already reserved the inventory and you won't see the "Reserve inventory" or "Release inventory" options. Instead, you'll be able to pause line items.

You can either reserve inventory for all the proposal line items in your proposal or select individual proposal line items for which you'd like to reserve inventory.

You can also release inventory after Ad Manager reserves inventory for a proposal line item or a set of proposal line items should it become necessary.

To reserve or release inventory for all proposal line items in a proposal:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Sales and then Proposals and then All proposals.
  3. Click the name of the proposal that contains the proposal line items for which you want to reserve inventory.
  4. From the More actions menu at the top of the proposal, select Reserve inventory (or Release inventory if inventory is already reserved).

To reserve or release inventory for some proposal line items in a proposal:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Sales and then Proposals and then All proposals.
  3. Click the name of the proposal that contains the proposal line items for which you want to reserve inventory.
  4. Select the proposal line items for which you want to reserve inventory.
  5. Above the list of proposal line items, click Reserve (or Release if inventory is already reserved).
