Report on performance

Use flags in your interactive report (Beta)

This feature is in Beta
Features in Beta phase might not be available in your network. Watch the release notes for when this feature becomes generally available.

When you create an interactive report, you can set up flags that show if certain thresholds are met. For example, you can set a flag to show if "Total clicks" are less than 1,000. Flags help highlight important data in your report results.

You can choose to be alerted if rows are flagged with scheduled reports

Example scenario

Let’s say you want to be alerted if video impressions are less than 100k for a set of line items in the Americas during any given week. Set up a report with the date range "Last week," filter to the desired line items, and filter continent to "Americas."

For this scenario, set up a flag for total impressions < 100,000. Then, set up scheduling to receive the previous week’s report at the start of each week if the flag is triggered.

This setup will only send you a report if the criteria you established is met, so you can further review your network's performance as needed.

Set up a flag

Note: Flags are available for all metrics in your interactive report. To use flags, your report needs at least one metric.
  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Reporting and then Interactive reports.
  3. Click the name of an existing report, or create a new report.
  4. In the top-right corner, click Flags and then Add flag.
  5. On the menu, select a metric to flag.
Only metrics included in your report show in the menu.
  6. (Optional) To add a time comparison or percent change requirement to the flag, on the metric in the menu, click Expandand make a selection.
Note that this option is available in reports that include a time period comparison.
  7. To set the threshold that determines when the flag shows:
    1. Click Expand and select an operator, such as greater than (>) or less than (<).
    2. Under "Value," enter a number.
  8. (Optional) To add another threshold, click And, then make your selections.
Note that if you add multiple thresholds to a flag, the flag will only show if all thresholds are met. You can add multiple flags that activate at different thresholds.
  9. Select a color for the flag.
  10. Click Save

Edit or remove a flag

  1. In an interactive report, click Flags.

Filter a report for flags

After you set up flags, you can filter your report results for any flagged rows.

  1. In your report results, under "Filter by flag," click the menu Expand.
  2. Next to each flag you want to include in the results, check the box.
  3. (Optional) To remove a flag filter from the results, uncheck the box for that flag.
