G Suite offers many migration products for admins and end users. Depending on your source environment and the number of users to migrate, deciding on the correct strategy can be difficult. These tables can help you choose the best option for migrating your email, calendar, contacts, folders, files, and permissions into G Suite.

Administrator tools (by source environment)

End user tools (by source type)

Acronym legend

  • DMS: Data migration service
  • GSMIN: G Suite Migration for IBM Notes
  • GSMME: G Suite Migration for Microsoft Exchange
  • GSMMO: G Suite Migration for Microsoft Outlook®

Notes

(1) When migrating from IMAP, Gmail, or G Suite, GSMME works for email and label migration only. It doesn't include calendar events and resources, contacts, Google Drive files, Google Sites, or any other non-mail content.

(2) When migrating from IMAP, Gmail, or G Suite, DMS works for email and label migration only. It doesn't include calendar events and resources, contacts, Google Drive files, Google Sites, or any other non-mail content.

(3) G Suite Migrate is only available for the following G Suite editions: G Suite Business, G Suite Enterprise, G Suite Enterprise for Education, and Google Drive Enterprise. (Admins: For more details on how to apply for the Beta, see this form.)

(4) Exchange Online and SharePoint Online are part of the Microsoft Office 365® platform.

(5) Google Cloud Support does not provide support for Mail Importer for Gmail.

(6) G Suite Migrate is designed for large customer migrations of 1,000 users or more. Due to the complexity of product installation and configuration, customers below this threshold may find it challenging to use G Suite Migrate in their current environment.
