Set up advanced mobile device management

Step 1: Turn on advanced management

If you have the legacy free edition of G Suite, upgrade to G Suite Basic to get this feature. 

To use advanced mobile device management, first you need to turn it on. Then, to manage Apple® iOS® devices, install an Apple Push Certificate to manage Apple® iOS® devices.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

    Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Devices.

    If you don't see Devices on the Home page, at the bottom, click More controls.

  3. On the left, click Setup.
  4. Click Mobile Management.
  5. (Optional) To customize the management level across organizational units, on the left, select an organization.
  6. Next to Enable Mobile Management, click Turn on Turn on to turn on mobile management.
  7. Select Advanced
  8. Click Save.
  9. If you see a message that you need to enable sync on mobile, click Go to Sync on Mobile. Check the boxes for the devices you want to allow to synchronize corporate data and click Save.
