This article is for administrators who want to move their organization’s email data to Google Workspace. If you're a user who wants to move from Google Workspace to Gmail, follow the steps to transfer old emails from another email account instead.
You can migrate your users' email data to Google Workspace using the data migration service if you're migrating from:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, or Exchange Online (Microsoft 365)
- A personal Gmail (@gmail.com) account
You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.
Migrate from Exchange or Exchange Online

Migrate from IMAP-based webmail providers
To migrate emails from IMAP-based webmail providers, you must use the new data migration service. It offers an easier setup process than the classic migration service, which is no longer supported. If you try to set up or modify a migration, you will be redirected to the new data migration service where you can continue setup. For details, go to Data migration (New).

To migrate emails from Google Workspace, you must use the new data migration service. It offers an easier setup process than the classic migration service, which is no longer supported.
