We’re excited to share a unique opportunity with you. Our YouTube Music product team would like to hear your questions and feedback about the new music experience and in return, will share their knowledge with you.
Starting today, you can submit your YouTube Music related questions and feedback in the comments below and we’ll respond on Friday!
On Friday September 21st at 9.30am PST, our YouTube Music team will be here in the community answering as many questions as possible–right here on this thread. We look forward to hearing from you!
We saw a lot of questions about GPM to YTM migration, and we wanted to provide answers to the most commonly asked questions on that topic:
When is Google Music going to get replaced by YT Music?
Along with building new, innovative features that weren’t on Google Play Music, we are working hard to make sure we support the most important GPM features in YouTube Music (including personal uploads) before migrating users over. There is a lot of work to do, so we don’t have a specific timeline at this point.
When will Google music playlists be ported over from GPM?
We want to make it really easy for you to bring over your library (including playlists), uploads, and history from GPM to YTM, but we don’t have a timeline as mentioned above. Our goal is to phase the migration, so we'll start by allowing you to migrate non-uploaded content, and then eventually support full migration including uploads.
The majority of people I have talked to will not leave GPM because current music and playlists will not port over to YTM. No sense creating lists in YTM if the port is going to screw things up in the future. How can you ease their (and my) concerns by explaining how and when the music transfer is going to happen?
Our plan is to have it be as simple as tapping a single button to migrate all of their GPM content over to YouTube music. A lot of the work we will be doing to make this seamless is around ensuring that we resolve duplicates and give users the library they expect even if they've used both apps (like I have).
When our GPM data finally moves/transfers to YTM, will it "replace" what's currently in YTM, or "merge" with it? Basically I'm asking, if I start using YTM now, will my data from both services merge seamlessly, or would my YTM data be overwritten?
I talked a little about this above, but this is something we are very focused on. Some data will be purely additive, like bringing over your playlists. Some data will be merged, like our understanding of which artists you love and your thumbs ups. To get to the heart of your question, our plan here is seamless merging, not overwriting.

We want to make sure to strike a good balance between amazing sounding audio and also not burning through your data. Here are some specifics about audio quality in YouTube Music:
What's your current audio quality and what audio quality are you going to give in the long run?
Right now if you stream at Normal quality, you are getting 128kbps AAC as your bitrate. For premium subscribers, we offer High quality which is 256kbps AAC. If you have flaky network connectivity or want to save data, you can switch to low quality which is 48kbps HE-AAC. 256kbps AAC is equivalent in audio quality to the 320kbps CBR mp3 that we had for GPM, but it uses less data.
As mentioned in my intro post, Audio Quality selection is now live for both iOS and Android for YouTube Music Premium members.
HQ audio (higher than 256kbps)?
Right now we don’t have any plans for audio quality higher than 256kbps. Our deals would require us to charge more to stream FLAC, so at this point we are focused on improving performance rather than supporting lossless streaming.

We have heard all your feedback regarding organization features you'd like to have when looking through your Library. We're working on ways to improve browsing your content and building ways to make it easier to find the music you love and have saved in your library. Stay tuned for feature updates!

We've heard your feedback about missing music, and we are actively reading all your feedback for albums, songs, and artists. We are continuously working to add your favorites into YouTube Music. Please continue to leave feedback in the app!

We noticed some questions regarding playlists, and I've responded to the top questions here:
Is there a timeline to being able to filter songs in a specific playlist (search for a song in a playlist)?
The library team is working on a number of playlist improvements, including better sorting within the songs of a playlist. We don’t currently have a plan for filtering, but it’s a feature request we have heard from you.]
Do you have any plans on separating YouTube playlists and subscriptions from YouTube Music?
We did separate albums & playlists from YouTube Music so they don’t show up in YouTube.com. We are now looking at allowing the users to do this for subscriptions as well.
Add a 4th option on bottom menu for exploring different playlists (genre, decade, age, etc.)
The ability to browse the amazing, deep YouTube catalog is a definite priority for us. For now, you should be able to search for genres, decades, and moods and find great playlists for all those occasions.
Can we subscribe to other playlists similar to GPM and Spotify? How can we share those playlists, or find them from other folks?
You can add playlists to your library, share playlists with others (even non-subscribers), and search for user-created playlists. For example, here’s a fantastic playlist from NPR Music of the 200 greatest songs from 21st century women: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLy2PCKGkKRVZ-6OfKINL6_bkus7MDZJMn
When will gapless playback work?
It’s something the team is actively working on, but we don’t have a date on that for you at this time.
When will you bring Gapless Playback, which is essential for those of us who listen to albums by bands like Pink Floyd?
Mentioned above, but we do know that Dark Side of the Moon just isn’t the same without true gapless and are working on it :)

Hey everyone! I'm a product manager on YouTube Music, and I'll be trying to answer as many of your questions as possible for the next hour. Before joining YouTube Music 18 months ago, I had worked on Google Play Music for 6 years. I'm very familiar with both products and care a lot about making YouTube Music the best music app and making sure migration from Play Music is as easy and delightful as possible.
One exciting update for today is that we have fully launched audio quality (and download quality) selection on both iOS and Android for YouTube Music Premium users. See here for more information: https://support.google.com/youtubemusic/answer/9076559

I saw some questions about the difference between features on iOS and Android. In general, our strategy is to develop and release features across both clients simultaneously. There are some cases where a feature is client-specific like support for the equalizer on Android, which is coming very soon, but that shouldn't be the norm going forward.
Why does it seem that iOS always get the better updates over Android? I guess my question is, why does it seem that YouTube Music Devs, prioritize iOS over Google's own Android?
In the particular case of Audio Quality, we found a bug during launch of both iOS and Android that only affected the Android build, so it took us a little bit longer to roll that feature out on Android (though it’s live today for subscribers). In general, our goal is to launch things across iOS and Android simultaneously, and you will see this with our upcoming launches happening throughout the rest of the year and beyond.
Mentioned in my intro post, but we are fully live now with Audio Quality on Android as well.
Are you going to keep pushing strict A/B testing on Android (90% still don't have audio quality controls in their settings)?
We actually do testing and experiment ramp-ups on both clients, but as mentioned above audio quality launched first on iOS due to a bug we found in the Android implementation.

Are any efforts being made to make YouTube Music more stable when using it with Chromecast and Google Assistant?
There are folks on the team actively working on making cast and assistant more stable and faster. We are always always working on improving the results in assistant queries.
When can we play personal playlists in YouTube Music via Google Assistant?

Why do you only allow certain songs for Premium members? None of that was talked about in your benefits
Artists and their labels are able to designate a certain song or album to be premium-only, in which case it is only allowed for premium members; this is not a decision made by the YouTube Music team.

I saw a lot of questions about general feature differences between GPM and YTM. I was the PM for most of GPM's existence, and I'm definitely aware of what work we still need to do here. That said there are a lot of really incredible things that YouTube Music already does better than GPM (sharing, Playlist creation, ability to have videos and songs side-by-side to name a few).
Still official album gaps between YTM and GPM. Plans to address?
Yes - this is very much still in progress. And hopefully you’ve seen those gaps shrink in the weeks since YouTube Music relaunched. Our teams are hard at work bringing remaining artists on board for the countries we’ve already launched in, and the countries we’re launching in soon.
I really relied on the play counts on Google Play Music to tell if I listened to an album or song. Will this be coming to YouTube Music? Another option, what about badges when someone has listened to an album in it's entirety? Or check marks. I think this would be a neat feature.
Individual user play count will be coming to YTM before the GPM migration. I do like the idea of some sort of UI that shows when you've listened to an album as long as it doesn't feel too much like unread emails :)
Will there ever be Radios on the homepage like in GPM?
Single song and video playback automatically starts radio based on that play. You can also double-tap on any of our playlists to play them back in a smart-shuffled order that is similar to GPM’s curated stations.
No caching ability in the Android app?
We do cache the next song in YouTube Music and are working on a long-held cache in YouTube Music that’ll behave like GPM’s does today.
Why is there a delay in new content being posted on YTM? Often new albums/singles appear on other streaming services including Google Play Music way before YTM
New albums do appear on the artist page at 12am ET on Fridays, and if they’re from an artist that you like they’ll show up on the New Releases shelf on your Home page. Sometimes there is a delay in search, but last night at 9:01pm my time, I was able to see the new Mountain Man record in search right away: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ngLm9fjsXHKBx8VUSX4ol0lIdHq4lpW9Q
How come new albums arrive much later on YouTube Music than it does on Spotify and Google Play Music?
This was definitely the case for albums that were delivered last minute (what we call a “rush release”) when we first relaunched YouTube Music. Since then, we’ve sped up our ingestion a great deal and don’t typically see this lag in important places like search, the New Releases shelf on Home and the artist’s album shelf on their profile page.

One new experience we launched this year was a rich desktop web player at music.youtube.com. We did get a few questions about a specific desktop app. There are no plans to build a desktop application, but we are working on adding a lot of features to make the web feel more like a desktop player including media kets support.

Being YouTube Music, we want to make sure that people get the best experience across both audio and video. For example, you can create and share playlists that have both songs and videos in them in order to get the most complete view of your favorite music. We are working hard on improving the interaction between the two, which will address a lot of the questions below:
Often when playing a song in 'audio only' mode the music video version of the song will play. In some cases these have dialogue or other sound effects present in the music video but not the official track. Are there any plans to address this and play the correct version?
The team is working on a really exciting overhaul of how we play audio and video in order to really show off YouTube’s amazing catalog of content. I can’t discuss much more about it, but it’s something we want to launch in the near future.
I have 2 big issues with YTM, one was already mentioned in this thread (missing albums) so I'll ask about the other one. There seems to be a lot of inter-mixing of music videos and just songs even within albums. I understand that's it's a YouTube app but this mixing kinda sucks. Even if it's on audio only, it's the audio of the music video. Music video have all sorts of nonsense going on when I just want to listen to the song. Is this something that's gonna be changed in the future or is this how you guys intended it to work?
If you are a subscriber of YouTube Music Premium, playing back albums will only play the audio version of all the songs instead of mixing in music videos.
Option to exclude videos from search results. Many users like myself are only interested in the audio aspect of a music subscription service
You can filter search results by song or album to hide the video searches, and we are working on better search ordering based on the content you primarily consume.

A few of you mentioned that your recommendations haven't been as relevant as they could be. We are constantly learning from your plays and thumbs to make sure that our homepage delivers a truly personal listening experience. When you first use the app, we have a way for you to tell us artists you like, and will soon allow users to retake that quiz to adjust their recommendations.
Will there be recommendations similar to GPM, not just the "Hot List"?
The Home page is full of recommendations beyond the family of “Hotlist” playlists, but search also provides a great path: search for any song you’re in the mood for, and you get that song followed by an unending station of related songs.
Will the song recommendations improve soon? If so, how soon? Quite frankly it's terrible right now. I listen to indie music exclusively (lo-fi, indie rock, bedroom pop, darkwave, dream pop — you get the picture), but I keep getting terrible recommendations (think: Kanye West, Eminem, Dua Lipa)
I’ll start anecdotally that I have a somewhat broad set of tastes with my big three genres being indie rock/electro, black/death metal, and hip-hop. My Home page is pretty spot on for recommendations. The New Release shelf this morning had some new hip-hop and indie, and my Listen Again shelf was my favorite playlists for working in the morning, including a curated Dream Pop playlist. The more you listen and thumbs up, the better we get at learning.

I have similar questions that the others have (Android Auto, music selection, etc.), but also I noticed that the edited version gets played in my playlists randomly. Will there be a way to only have the explicit version of a song play?
In general, we always try to prefer the original (explicit) version. Certainly if you added the original version, we should be respecting that.

Why does it seem that iOS always get the better updates over Android? I know that for Android it's a staged rollout but that promise of updating the app more frequently seems to only apply to iOS. I personally love this app and the service it offers, but we Android users also need updates, not just ios, it's hard to see iOS phones have the best version the app can be(with audio quality for example). We don't want to wait half a year for an update to come out for Android after it came out for iOS. If I download an album for offline use and I have my app settings to only steam on WiFi... The album won't play when I'm not on WiFi unless I go to the downloaded music section. I feel like the album should play regardless of where I select it (if I already downloaded the album).

I agree with @Manny Soto above. My daily driver is an Android phone and YTM hasn't changed since day one, meanwhile my iPad Mini has had audio quality settings for weeks now. I wish there were a beta channel that those of us that are eager to use YTM could subscribe to (at least on Android), to get early access to new features and changes. Leave the average user who doesn't regularly visit forums or check for updates on the public, slow release cycle and move the more vocal users into a fast ring.

I am a paid subscriber to Google Music / Youtube Premium / YouTube Music.
Can you explain how on earth you pause my Google Music when I watch a video on youtube on my phone.
This means when I have people over, and they are listening to music on my Google Home, then I watch a youtube clip on my phone in the bathroom suddenly the music stops. This is ridiculous! And something newly introduced.
I am *paying* for your service, the least you could do it allow me to have one device per service. And really, it should be like spotify and netflix etc where I can have multiple devices using the same service at the same time.

Hi guys, pretty pleased with the service so far - a couple of questions...
Why is there a delay in new content being posted on YTM? Often new albums/singles appear on other streaming services including Google Play Music way before ytm
Will 'playlist folders' be added whereby you can nest a bunch of playlists within separate folders?
What sorting options will eventually be available for the library?
Will we be able to search within just our own library of added music? Could this be extended to showing results within our saved playlists?
I know that 'your mixtape' exists - and works quite well - but are there any plans for the homepage to feature other playlists in a similar vein generated based on music in our libaries? for example, a playlist/station that selects everything in my library under the genre 'hip-hop' and creates a mix? if i remember correctly, the old youtube music app used to have something similar on the home feed and created great mixes using just user uploaded music available on youtube
thanks guys, look forward to hearing any responses you may have

Will there ever be more than one (offline) mixtape? I would like some that consider just a few of my favourite artists or specific genres.
Will there ever be Radios on the homepage like in GPM?
I know, it's only two more clicks, but it has some easy access appeal and a seperate section for them would make recommendations better if you only play radios.
Also, any plans on being able to save radios as playlists?
Oh, and how about a section that shows me least heard tracks of my favorite artists?

I've got a couple of questions, so I'll list them as bullet points below:
How come new albums arrive much later on YouTube Music than it does on Spotify and Google Play Music?
Will the song recommendations improve soon? If so, how soon? Quite frankly it's terrible right now. I listen to indie music exclusively (lo-fi, indie rock, bedroom pop, darkwave, dream pop — you get the picture), but I keep getting terrible recommendations (think: Kanye West, Eminem, Dua Lipa)
When can we expect for our GPM playlists to be ported over?
Improvements:
I would like to be able to dislike artist so I never see them again
I wish the 'Hotlist' page showcased music based on my taste (I really don't care for TOP-40 music)
'More from [ARTIST NAME]' should be removed from the homepage. I'm already familiar with the artist, so why show me? Utter waste of space
More frequent playlists. New Indie & Alternative hasn't been updated in a month. It's a shame, really
'New releases' section on the homepage needs a drastic change. The recommendations are horrible. Worst I've ever seen. This made me switch back to Spotify for now.
Overall notes:
I'd wish for a better overall homepage, one that feels truly tailored to me, the user. In its current state, it feels too mainstream with its suggested playlists, songs, and albums. I want my homepage to be unique to me, no other streaming service offers this to its users — be the first one to do so, please.

I forgot to bring up the issue of missing music. I’m aware of the ongoing issues with labels withholding music, but there is a lot of music that are available on Google Play Music but not on YouTube Music. Is there a reason for this?
I have sent feedback through the app indicating various albums that are missing, but nothing has been added. Should I stop sending feedback through the app? Is it a waste of time because it’s out of Google’s control?

1. Loading times are annoyingly slow. When I click on my library it takes a solid two or three seconds before anything pops up. I have very high wifi speeds and I'm on a Pixel 2. Spotify loads much faster. Navigating should be quick and easy.
2. Support playlists from well known youtube channels like Cloudkid or TrapNation etc... Music discovery is the most important function of any music streaming service and YouTube has a leg up on most other platforms because there is so much unique content. Help me find it in an easy and enjoyable way.
3. Better recommendations. The Your Mixtape is fine, but I don't think it's enough. I'd like recommendations for all only new releases, recommendations for songs I've never heard before, and recommendations for specific genres/categories of music I listen to in separate playlists. The Your Mixtape seems to combine everything together along with music I already know, so it's not primarily a recommendation engine. Also, the algorithm seems to mainly just recommend songs from the same artists that I have already liked -- I don't need YouTube to do that for me, I can just click on the artist profile if I want to hear songs from the same artist.
4. Player Design. A few things. First, I would like an easier way to skip to the next track, such as swiping left. Spotify had this, so does GPM and basically any other streaming service. Second, when I click play on a song, I don't want the player to automatically take up the whole screen because then I have to minimize it if I want to keep scrolling. This is also something that spotify and GPM did but YTM does not. Third, I would like a way to skip tracks when the player is not expanded. Both GPM and Spotify allow the user to swipe on the minimized player to go to the next track. Finally, this is a little bit subjective, but I think that the expanding animation for YTM is way worse than both YT and YouTubeTV. When you swipe up from the bottom, the name of the artist and song do not seamlessly expand out, and it is annoying. In my opinion, the best option is YoutTube TVs animation from swiping up from the player.

Hey! GPM user here and I have a few questions regarding YouTube Music.
1. Will we be able to add individual songs instead of entire albums?
2. Are we going to be able to add music to our entire library and not playlists? I know you can like a song but I like tons of small artists/parodies on YouTube that I don't listen to on the daily, so this feature doesn't work for me.
3. Are we able to add artists to our artist section without subcribing to them? I'd rather not subcribe to artists that have passed. Furthermore I'm subscribed to small artists to support them but do not want them in the list of my artists, are we able to remove them without unsubscribing?
4. Will there be an "in my library" option added when searching up an artist?
5. Will liked songs ever be in alphabetical order?
6. Are you able to add an A-Z bar on the right hand side when scrolling through your library of songs? I know it's available on GPM on iPhones.

Is there a specific place we should request tracks/correct artist information? Like many other's concerns, I have a couple lesser known albums I like that are missing on YT Music, but present on Play Music and some incorrect artist information. It's very inconvenient trying to make this your main music player without some of your favorite songs. Will the full port of that library happen any time soon?
Also, will the user facing update cadence increase going forward? I appreciate server updates with things like better recommendations being implemented, but I also would like to be able to sort my liked artists/albums/songs alphabetically in a AAA music player in 2018.

Often when playing a song in 'audio only' mode the music video version of the song will play. In some cases these have dialogue or other sound effects present in the music video but not the official track. Are there any plans to address this and play the correct version?

I am infuriated with Google and the substandard way they have implemented YouTube Music and released it to the mainstream. I had a perfectly great Google Play Music subscription where I uploaded all of my albums and also added albums from the Play Store, then YouTube music comes and my GPM library disappears. Irritated I move to Apple Music but I am not overly happy with AM and begin the move back to GPM. This is where the horror begins yet again....my library contains historical playlists that cannot be deleted on bulk, some of my old library reappears so I go to delete it and start again....It takes forever to delete. There is no dark mode.....and I can go on. I really love the Google ecosystem but I just can't help thinking that we as consumers are some how being mugged off by Google's inability to invest time and effort in doing this properly. Google can I come and work for you and show how this SHOULD BE DONE?

Here are the issues I have with the current YouTube Music :
(a) You can't like or dislike songs when there's no data connectivity. I refuse to use YTM till this is added. Most of the time, I listen to music in the underground where there's no data. The fact I can't like or dislike songs is ridiculous.
(b) You can't save a queue of songs as a playlist
(c) There's no 'I'm feeling lucky' equivalent. My usual workflow in Play Music is : I'll play the 'I'm feeling lucky' station, save the automatically generated queue of 25 songs as a playlist, download the playlist on my phone, and then listen on the underground where there's no connectivity.
(d) Offline mixtape keeps playing the same songs over and over again. Once I've played a song in the offline mixtape, it should disappear and not play again for a while.
(e) When I'm outside my original country (UK), the app is totally useless. I can't stream or play songs.
(f) No mood, genre, or activity based stations. I don't want playlists, I want stations. Why are there no genre based stations? So surprising!
(g) No Chromecast capabilities in the web version
(h) No caching ability in the Android app. Play Music caches some songs when I start playing a station (I think around 5 songs). YTM doesn't cache at all.

Why are so many songs that are available on GPM or YouTube not available on YouTube music? Is there a timeline they will be made available and is there some way we can alert you so you can make them available quicker. I've noticed specifically no Radiohead songs and only a couple of Interpol albums.

Will there be a way to discern "community" music and videos versus "artists" . The mishmash is terrible. also it seems that GPM and the YTM syncing is going to be an unsuccessful venture.

Has Google considered user centric royalty payments? I believe Deezer was or is looking into this. I think it would be a great opportunity for YouTube Music to break from the norm and set itself apart.

Is there any information at all you can give in regard to how uploaded songs from Play Music will transition? Or, if you're unable to go into real specifics, can we at least get a confirmation that a transition is still being planned? I think a lot of the worry from current Play Music subscribers is that either songs won't carry over, or that there will be some kind of string attached to the process. Is there anything that can be said to allay those fears?
I would also like to mirror comments about Android Auto. It seems obvious it's got to be incorporated eventually, but is there a timeline?
Library sort via Genre seems needed.
Speaking of Genre, being able to sort through the full library of playlists is something missing from Play Music. The discoverability of them is pretty good, and searching for a term ("jazz" or whatever) would return those playlist results, but it is nice to be able to scroll a list of all of them based on genre, mood, activity -- all of that stuff.

I have similar questions that the others have (Android Auto, music selection, etc.), but also I noticed that the edited version gets played in my playlists randomly. Will there be a way to only have the explicit version of a song play?
Additionally, will there ever be bundled pricing for subscribers of both YouTube Music and YouTube TV?

The biggest issue with this lack of transparency. You guys basically rolled out a half backed streaming app, that lacks many of the basic features of other major players and your own GPM, and said trust us we are dedicated to this app and music streaming. Given googles history in this space and with other apps (messaging) why should we trust that the success of this app is a major priority.
If you want people to stick out this transition period:
-Be more open about current improvements you are looking to make for the next quarter.
-Let us know when improvements are made even if they are server side updates. Side note - an employee mentioned you made some improvement to the radio feature. Take another look at it because sunshine on my shoulders John Denver still shows up on 90% of my radio stations.
-Provide monthly status updates (a simple on track or off track)
-Provide a list of the top (10, 20 or whatever) requests that you are considering for the next quarter or longer term implementation.
I’ve been a GPM subscriber since day one and at this point have little reason to stick around much longer.

If you ask Google play music to resume music resume play it does if you ask YouTube music to do this you get different songs or a different program all together. HI YT Music! I have been a GPM subscriber since day 1. A lot of my questions have already been asked on here so I'm just going to highlight some features that I think would really help you guys compete with Apple Music and Spotify.
Playlists
Have the song limit of playlists be much greater than the current GPM song limit of 1,000. I would like to see be at least 5,000. Although 10,000 would be really nice.
Allow playlist folders (like Spotify)
Transfer all current playlists from GPM to YTM with songs staying in current order and without the loss of any songs during transfer (some of us fanatics take years to organize our lists!)
Allow songs in playlists to have available filters:
Artist (alphabetically)
Song (alphabetically)
Album (alphabetically)
Length
Date Added to Playlist (like Spotify)
Song's original release date (currently not offered in Spotify, but you can 1-up them)
Official Songs vs. YouTube offered songs:
When searching songs, have the option to listen to the official release of the song (perhaps as the recommended song).
When listening to the official song of an artist- have the ability to listen to that song or watch the official music video of that song with a simple click of a button. (would be a huge advantage over Apple and Spotify!)
Miscellaneous Questions:
Are you going to offer Music Locker like in GPM?
Will songs purchased and uploaded through GPM all be transferred over to TYM Library?
Will there be YTM store for MP3s or will the GPM store remain open for that?
Other special features to consider:
Offer comprehensive lists of most streamed artists and songs in the world - Similar to most popular in the world that Spotify currently has but more in depth, (perhaps with filters of genres or related artists).
Offer Concert info for each subscribed Artist in your library. For example have a separate tab listing upcoming shows available in your area from each Artist (like Spotify has at the top of an Artist page). You currently have something like that on the GPM Home tab but to have a list for every liked Artist would be much better.
I think I gave you guys enough ideas for now, haha! If you bring all of these ideas into fruition you'd be in great shape. Any response with ETA would be appreciated, Good Luck!

I mainly use YTM on iOS to listen to Downloaded music here are some things I would like to see:
1. Have an Downloaded music only mode (similar to GPM has) that only shows Downloads. Sometimes when I am driving and am at an area with a bad connection, it takes a while to get to the Downloads page to load
2. Can you please have an option to automatically sync downloaded playlists. I really like the YTM curated playlists, but it is a pain to have to manually sync them every few days
3. Can we have an option to Shuffle play all Downloaded music

So I just got the low/normal/high/always high quality options in the app today, which is great, however -- The codec or format YTM uses vs GPM seems to completely different (GPM supports up to 320 Kbps MP3, and there seems to be a difference in YTM between the app and the web as to what format it's in). My question is: For purchased and uploaded music in GPM, will those files be transferred in lateral quality (regardless of codec)? Converted to something else? The vast majority of my music I upload I try to get at the highest allowable quality (320) and it would be a shame to have that downgraded.

I got the audio quality options as well just now, but guess what, I'm out of the country so the app is absolutely totally ridiculously useless. I cannot play a single song, even the playlists I downloaded! The app is dead as a dodo.

When are we gonna be able to see YouTube channels in YouTube music. The reason many people use YouTube for music is because they subscribe to promoting channels which release tons of copyright free music of up and coming artists. This is mainly electronic music, not being able to see all the channels I've subscribed to with all the new music I Wana see in the YouTube music app is a big let down.
These songs are released on a promoting channels with many artists released in a format of "artist - song name" it would be very easy to put that into the player for YouTube music as the artist name and song title.

- Return of the 'variety' slider that existed in the YouTube Music app before the UI update and rebranding to Premium.
- Option to toggle on/off comments for tracks.
- Ability to add an album to the queue.
-Sonos support.
- Ability to visit channels, as well as being able to listen to channels that are live streaming.
- The regular YouTube app now shows upcoming concerts near you, and I think this should also be implemented into the music app.
- Ability to browse playlists by mood or genre.
- Option to browse new releases more extensively.
- More auto generated playlists (like mix tape/offline mix tape) that cater to genre, discovery, new releases, etc.
- Option to receive updates via notification for artists I follow/ recommendations.
- Not sure if this is possible, but when toggling audio only or video it would be nice to have the entire playlist from that point on switch to either the official audio for audio only or available music videos if on video mode. Currently if I switch to video mode on a playlist already populated by official audio nothing changes.
