I suspect that you are addressing two different things altogether.  Coincidental but not related.

First step-  check what your channel looks like.  Yes, I know it has the new design but does it also have the following default icon?

If it does- you have opted to move your YouTube channel to a Google+ Page when you were confronted by this page the last time you were able to log in:

This just so happened to be at the same time that they were also updating us to One Channel- one day during the 14 day countdown we logged in, were confronted by the above page, thought it probably had to do with the countdown to One Channel and WHAM- ended up adding Google+ Page to the mix!

The Fix:

1.  Log out of Google,
2.  Clear caches/restart browser,
3.  Go to www.youtube.com and click [Sign In],
4.  Enter your YouTube channel's Google account username (ie that email you were using to sign in with) and password,
5.  On the following page opt for the one with the default Google+ Page icon, not your Google account:

You have now logged into your Google+ Page using YouTube channel and not your Google account which is no longer "in charge" of your YouTube channel.  :)

If you would like to go back to being able to log in as per normal, without Google+ Pages, then do this:

1.  Go to YouTube settings which is located in the drop down menu up top right,
2.  Click on the link being referred to as "your saving grace" in this next graphic,
3.  Give feedback about why you want to unlink.  Be factual as Google need to know how confusing it is.

You cannot unlink the Google+ Page and revert to using your original Google account because that Google account is associated with a terminated YouTube channel sometime in its past and is not eligible to use YouTube anymore, sorry.
