Permanent "gray $ icon" even with "Monetize with ads" activated (since 2014)

Suddenly on Monday, a video that I have long monetized since 2014 has changed its icon to $ gray. In the "monetization" tab the option to Monetize with ads is activated (image 1),

I do not have any copyright appeal (image 2) but even so the icon continues gray (without crossing out) with the legend "Not monetized".

The anomaly occurred on monday, since 2014 the video was being monetized without problems.

The rest of the videos of my channel have not been affected and I comply with all the requirements to be able to monetize (image 3)

Also, the option for users to comment on the video (image 4) has been deactivated automatically when it has been always activated (I had to activate it again by myself).

In addition, the visualizations have decreased DRAMATICALLY since years. From an average of 20,000 daily reproductions of that video, it has dropped to just over 2500 daily reproductions (image 5)

It's like, somehow, the video had been "hacked" and all good "reputation" had been lost, so it stops appearing as suggested video in playlists or final screens.

Any idea what's happening?
Thank you very much for the help.

I've searched the forum for more information, and as I guess you'll ned this information, here it goes:

- What date was your monetization disabled? On monday
- Did you receive any email on being disabled & if so what did it say? No email was received (not even on spam folder)
- Were you with a MCN (multi-channel network) when you were disabled? No
- Is your AdSense account active at www.google.com/adsense ? Yes, I had no problem with my videos since I've started monetization on 2014 and I've recieve payments every month.
- Please check https://www.youtube.com/my_videos_copyright  - are there any copyright issues listed there? Does not affect the video in question
- Has your  channel had any strikes, worldwide content ID blocks, or content ID claims on visual content? No
- Did you delete any videos while they had a strike, a worldwide block, or a claim on visual content?  If yes, what date? No
- Do you have any other channels, currently or in the past, and did they have any of the issues above? No
- Have you ever had a channel suspended or terminated, even years ago? No
- Does your channel have over 10k total public views? Yes, I have 12M public views and 18K subscriptors.

Have the exact same issue with one of my videos. The video is about diagnosing posture problems- about as far away from a controversial or copyright topic as you can get. The demonetization isn't even that big of a deal, I just don't understand WHY youtube would stop suggesting the video completely. I wasn't even aware this was possible unless the video gets flagged for adult content or something.

Sorry about my English. The same thing happened to me. There are not any type of copyright controversies and we've played classical music ourselves

Collapse of visits and search rank
Unable to monetize (Gray Icon)

My Channel have excellent reputation. I contacted YouTube and they say was a technical problem with monetization. But at this point I will also contact them for collapse of the visits and search rank. It's clear that a bug has done serious damage to our videos

OSOAM and Johnny, is it just one of your videos afected? If so, does that video have something special?

In my case, is just one video and that video is the most viewed on my channel (it's like a nightmare, my best video have been unranked) with 8M visualitations.

Even my video was the most watched of the channel. First place in his search sector on YouTube and 426,000 visitors.
Dropped 25 positions in just 1 day after these problems. It's no coincidence. Someone did something wrong on YouTube

My most viewed video as well. The majority of my channel is just small niche videos with a few thousand views but this one video has hundreds of thousands. It has now dropped to getting like 100 views a day because its no longer reccomended by youtube anywhere on the website.

Youtube support simply said its an issue they're having and that they're "investigating" the demonetization issue but with the drop in viewers the ad revenue is nonexistent regardless.

is clearly a lie. Same conditions, same problems, same results. But totally different videos, everything happened between Sunday and Monday (italy time)
My video has also dropped to 100 visits per day. Is this also coincidences? I don't think

Ok friends, so this is what we can conclude:

- Just most viewed video/videos on our channel affected.
- Since 27th november, at 8AM (Europe time)
- Big drop on visualizations (about 90%)
- Comments automaticatly disconneted (this is very very strange)
- Low, or inexistent, search and recomendation rank
- We all have been told that is a "technical issue" affecting monetization, but no word about views drop or official Youtube's comunication

In my opinion, Youtube is trying to implement some kind of new algorithm and something went wrong. We are the affected ones, and this bug is doing to us serious damage. Will this have a solution? I hope so, with Christmas so close.

What do you think?

Excatly, problem are all those. I think the same thing, a new totally malfunctioning algorithm

But there are bad news for me. Situation today has worsened. Video does not even appear if I search for it with its exact name. Absurd!

By any chance, did anyone else here have an unexpected sign in to their gmail on the 27th?

On my channel are published videos about children in ballet and gymnastics. Recently, YouTube has lowered the rating of many of my videos, removed them from related videos, removed it from search results and turned off monetization (2/3 of the videos have gray and yellow icons).

I understand that this is the work of the algorithm, but obviously its imperfection. How to remove these restrictions? Views and revenue slipped to zero. Support does not respond.

@Asim zb, yes I know, but I can't edit it now. When all this started we don't have enough information for a better title.

And no, no updates on my channel. Same yellow$ and still being on review for a week. No official communicacion from Youtube and videos still delistened.

I send to Youtube Suport and email 3 days ago and I still waiting for a response (they usually answer me by 1 or 2 days).
