Video keeps getting shortened to 5 seconds.

I'm wondering why my recent video kept being shortened to 5 seconds when uploaded, when the video is supposed to be 8 minutes in length.

I am using H.264 in an AVI container, 13MB bitrate, 192kpbs MP3 audio, 1280x720 resolution. The same exact settings I use for all my previous videos, which are unaffected by this issue. Most of my videos also contain the same content (same video game).

Here's a MediaInfo report on the file. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the specs for YouTube to cut it to 5 seconds. I even tried uploading it multiple times, but always the same issue. The video plays fine on my PC, no skipping and all frames intact. I even re-encode it and it still won't fully process the entire length.

I mean to say the video is 10 minutes long, not 8 minutes. But not long enough for YouTube to reject it.

I have the exact same problem! It worked just fine for me about 3 days ago and now i can't upload anything longer then 30 seconds.

Are you sure it was 3 days ago? Because my last video I uploaded was on the 23rd, and that was just fine, albeit using the exact same settings.

I'm going to try to reduce the video length to see what happens.
That won't work. I've attempted to upload a 4 minute video and got a 30 second clip back.
When I edit videos I now add a short "The End" to all my videos and make sure the title is animated and after all talking and sounds.  This will prevent your video from being cut off.  I normally use the zoom in effect for my The End.
Yeah, that's an old trick Happy Cabbie and helps in NORMAL cut-off situations.  but the problem here is, our videos aren't even GETTING to the end in the processing.  YouTube's encoder is only doing the first 30 seconds or less then stopping, regardless of the video's actual length.l  Seems to be affecting most common types of avi - h.264, XviD and DivX.
same problem, my videos are high quality .avi's, (specifically DV NTSC 16:9), and has worked PERFECTLY for a long time, all the sudden EVERY VIDEO I UPLOAD... it uploads properly, then processes, and when it is done processing and ready for viewing only the first 3 seconds shows up.

Kinda tired of it, please fix it.
Cool, I actually so all my capturing, editing and mastering in DV-AVI, then upconvert to 720p for YouTube (titles and overlays look a lot sharper than way too, I master each version straight from the project file).  Anyway, add DV-AVI to the list of avi formats that don't work...looks like it's basically ANYTHING that uses an avi container.  Which is ridiculous.  Going on FOUR DAYS now, and I now have a backlog of no less than 13 videos waiting to be uploaded...
Come on YouTube a lot of people are getting tired of this. FIX IT NOW!
My video uploaded ok but when I then edit using audio swap they are cut from 3 plus minutes to only one minute and 48 seconds, Its happened several times in the last two days. Whatsup? Steve Mach
I have a similar problem, except my video STOPS playing at 5 seconds, then resumes playing after several more seconds.
well, its been around five months since this problem was reported. And its still gone unfixed. I uploaded a video that was five minutes long, and only uploaded two minutes and twenty five seconds of it. So, i delete the video, and try to upload again, no dice.. and i've uploaded 44 other videos, one being around 4 minutes long, all without fault. Hah. perhaps its youtube way of discouraging non-partners from uploading many videos..
A similar thing is happening with all my videos. The video is sped up, but audio normal, so the video finishes early but the audio is out of sync and doens't get to finish. Strange thing is, they all initially worked fine when I first uploaded them, but checking back later (since the HD thing perhaps? I'm not sure when exactly.) they are all shortened with the picture sped up.
