LG smart TV youtube app buffering

I recently bought LG LM670. I can live with weird youtube app keyboard. But why youtube videos buffers 5-15 times slower than on my PC? Same video, same connection, but on TV it just buffers and buffers and buffers... I need to pause video and wait up to 10 minutes fir buffering to complete. Why it is so slow? Other apps for video streaming works perfect, so that`s not TV problem, that is youtube app problem. By the way I am not talking about HD videos even 360p videos are buffering.
I cannot find how to communicate this to google for investigation. Maybe we should start some sort of online campaign on this issue? For example post on google+ mentioning youtube google inc and so on and then reshare that.

I'm having similar problem with my LG LM7610. Youtube HD videos just keeps on buffering. The same videos are played well in HD on my mobiles, tablet and laptop. I complained about this issue to the LG guys in Sharjah but the response from them is so poor that I had to call them at least 30 times. Till now also nothing has happened. I had observed this issue within 7 days of purchase of the TV. It's horrible with LG. They must replace the TV.

Hello my tv updated to version 04.10.28. And youtube seems to be better. Can you update and confirm this?

Vukis, The current software is version 04.00.28 and not 04.10.28. I had already updated long back. Pls confirm again which version you are having.

Mine is 04.10.28 and my tv is LM670. I think we are from different markets, so why model name types and software version version differs.
You can check if your youtube app is updated by using that stupid youtube app keyboard. Now when you select any letter for example z there appears a cross with next common possible letters around it in four different directions. Look at the pic.:

I checked and already have the latest version on my TV. Also, I'm observing that when I increase the sound of TV, there comes a vibrating type of sound as if the speakers are continously hitting something. With old movies/songs this is even more prominent.

+1 Mines also got worse after newest updates. IMHO it is not LG`s fault. It`s poor youtube app and google. But I think it is impossible to get support from youtube app for LG developers. :(

Sorry, but i totally disagree with you.
1. Maybe your LG Bluray player has diferent youtube app?
2. Other video apps for me works flawlessly. No buffering with HD videos.
3. If it was hardware problem (slow processor, or other hardware problem). It would lag ass hell when playing. But now when you wait till youtube app preBuffers then it plays without any hiccups. I tried run youtube HD on old pc. It buffers superb but the playing glitches. I know that i used browser, but anyway I don`t believe that this is hardware issue. And if it was it wouldn`t be better in some earlier firmware revisions.
I am 99% that it is poor app design.

LG guys are upgrading the firmware without properly validating it. One more thing. I was about to buy a home theatre system and checked the options on my LM7610. To my surprise I found that there is only one kind of output port and that is the Optical Output port. There is not even a headphone port. I got Harmon Kardon wireless headphones (free gift) but they are almost useless with this TV. I checked other TVs. All of them has at least the headphone port.

LG is having one advantage - passive 3D glasses.

Otherwise, it's not worth the money.

hi guys,

looks like lot of you having the same problem i experienced with lg smart s... tv.
So far i used plex media server to run youtube videos on tv.
Now i found the best method is to use your Apple iphone youtube app.
I think this works with any smart phone i guess.
i use my youtube app on apple phone.
open the app on phone, select the video then select your tv in the icon on the right hand above. but you should have ur phone connected wire lessly to the same router as ur tv. then the TV plays the same video wire lessely on the screen
This has been working for me excellently and i never had the need to use lg youtube app. i hope all Ur youtube problems will be solved. good luck..

cheers
