New YouTube Player w/ Dark Frame & Minimized Controls
I go there to watch a video, and I dont seem to have the trouble that some people seem to have.
@nitro2kO1 - I suggest you drop it befor you find out just how rude I can be.
If you and/or your friends have something to say to me, then I expect you to say it to my face rather that leave your recognized pattern of [ ] This answer does not help.
You aren't the first Punk who has crossed my path, and sadly enough, I'm quite certain that you won't be the last.
Your constant crybaby complaining about the new video player is destined only to .....well I guess the word in "YOUR" language and "YOUR" proper English would be "nowhere".
Now if you want to know about self masturbation, then your physician will probably tell you it is "ok" to do and that your knuckels will not grow hair, and your private parts will not fall of, and that it actually may relieve some of your anger.
But NO, that isn't what I was refering to. I was refering to actually something kind enough to solve your trouble. And that is, YouTube is not about to cater to someone who wants to fiddle and manipulate a God Damn video control bar. So instead of frustrating yourself into an early grave, embed your video on your desktop and take complete control over it.
Because otherwise, what ou state about constantly wanting to play with the controls while you study your video is NOTHING but a cheap excuse that you not only can't handle change, but also that see lifethrough horse goggles. If you are absorbed in your video gameplay that you must concentrate soley on the video and its controls, then you are admitting that nothing else on the webpage matters. Thats why I told you how to embed the video on your desktop instead of crying about it.
My daughter even knows how to do that and she is a complete disaster when it comes to computers.
Now do you want to continue through life with no better defnest than to pick on someone's spelling? Or do you want to grow up and be a man, and impress some young lady, such as my daughter who IS fluent in 7 languages?
@MortenHjort - the current AS3 embedded player IS the same video player as used on YouTube. Its always been that way. If you like the black design, its available though not officially announced. You can find more information on using it in the Creators Corner forum.
@Rickbell7 - Ive been meaning to ask you - when they changed to this design, can you tell if the height and width of the actual video (not counting the control bar) is proportionatly correct as compared to the previous design? In other words, is the aspect ratio correct or is it slightly off? I cant tell.
I dont know if you noticed, but on an error screen, the error message bounces up and down proportionate to the height of the control bar. Obviousl, it would be a disaster to bounce the video the same way, but it makes me wonder whats going on with the height of the video. Maybe they need to scoot the video up and what to do with the empty space when the control bar autohides? What else.. put your name there :+) No, seriously though, it wouldnt suprise me to suddenly find a Google ad there in the future :-(
Some peaceful compromise that I could see is something that they already have in place.
You know how they already have yt:cc=on Tags for video owners to force Closed Captions? And at the same time they already have user settings to force Closed Captioning on? All that is is an embeddable parameter built into the video player. So is the parameter to autohide the loading bar as well as the control bar itself. So essecntually what people are asking for the option of, already exists. So why not take a good thing and make it even better? And naturally if they do that, then they need to readjust the bottom of the video and then do something with that space which is left. If they wanted to turn that spot into something truly extravagant the put a Marquee with the title or author or whatever. Thats asking alot obviously, and turning that unused black space to the color of the surrounding module (sharing?) would be a lot easier.
This same behavior is evedent on a lot of video Flash and not so flash. Its not just youtube... but those are besides the point. YouTube could go one step above and beyond the competition by being unique..... like me :-)
Its not that hard to do.
The silver theme was the but Butt-Ugliest video player I ever saw. It is/was not the "Youtube Standard Icon" and it looks like a pale ghost as far as my opinion is concerned.
If it has some bugs, those bugs are no mor result of it being black as the ocean is black when the sun goes down.
Its a new version of the same same video player you 250. So speak for your self(s) you half witted itiot(s)!
If you dont like it fine.... you dont like it.
But YOU dont represent ME!
Turn off your computer and get off your lazy ass, and go to your public library and make a report on "Drawbridge Californina".
We use to walk out the tracks from Alviso to there aznd smoke marajuana and complain why the world not change.
The answer was rigjht in front of us.
STAND UP PEOPLE, LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! OPTIONAL CHANGE!
I really hate to sound stupid here but I HAVE to say it, every one of these changes has made me have a mini panic attack to know that I am completely helpless to stop these changes that I don't like. Yea, I could change services but with that I would lose a good deal of the channels I like watching on the regular, and that upsets me. You are making your user base hate you more and more everyday. Please, I BEG of you, make these things optional.
