Anybody else frustrated with youtube app on "LG smartTV"?

Just spent $2500 on the new lg smart tv. It has an ugly youtube app that plays random and somtimes innapropriate videos automatically when you open it. The search is limited and you cant log in, save favorites, or see related videos or any features you are used to from the website. To add to the frustration, if you try to view youtube.com (or allmost any popular website) the smart tv web browser feature can only view content using flash 8 or below. most websites including youtube use flash 9 or 10. LG TECH SUPPORT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTENT. LG could not tell me if they plan to update the web browser software. ever. Steer clear of these so called lg "SMART TV' devices. If, like me you have already thrown your money away, please contribute to the discussions and request updates. SMART TV? NOT SO SMART.

In Addition, The web browser on the smart tv cannot even properly view thier own lg website. this is due to as mentioned above, most websites, including YOUTUBE.COM using flash 9 or above.

Making note to self: NEVER buy an LG tv. "Smart" seems to be more like "Dumber'n a box of rocks." The shame is that they're getting away with it.

LG needs to get its act together. Customers are going to expect that they keep up with Flash player development and update firmware accordingly. If LG can't do this, they need to get out of the connected TV game. It just never occurred to me that I should ask about this when deciding on which connected TV to buy. Buyers BEWARE!!! I'm going to find out if the other brands have the same problem. If they don't, I'll be posting that information here so that we can save other poor souls from LG.

Hi I agree with all of the submissions. The response from LG tech guys and their complaints department has been inadequate. We like others are locked out of receiving a large amount of streamed video on our 47 LV 5500 due to this weird situation where Flash 8 is the only accepted version. It  seems incredible to consider that the device was only manufactured two months ago. Perhaps the issue may need to go to Fair Trading?
