YouTube is so slow it stops playing videos or won't even load at all. What is going on?

This has been going on for DAYS, maybe even the last month.
It's been gettting worse and worse for me to the point it's just about unusable.
It's NEVER been like this before. Never this bad. What is going on?

As of March 4, 2014 it's even more ridiculous...We utilize You Tube for some tutorials in the classroom and videos will not play. Our school district is located in the Comcast area. Go Figure. Unreal.

For the past few days I have been unable to watch youtube videos on my laptop when using the latest version of chrome. I keep getting the same error message (see screenshot).

BUT! I can see youtube videos using the youtube app on my phone and nexus 7-2013, using the same wifi connection as my laptop.

I cannot find any solution to my problem either. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I have the same problem. If im using Chrome Youtube is unusable. I can use IE and watch youtube all day with no problems. I dont get it but IE is the only way I can watch youtube. HOWEVER I can watch youtube videos on chrome as long as its not on youtube. Strange but i have messes with it enough to determine the problem is 100% with chrome.

It's been this way on IE and Chrome.

When I click on the video, it would load for minutes. Sometimes there's the error massage that appears on the black screen. Sometimes it just loads and loads and loads.

I noticed this especially happens with videos with advertisements at the beginning. A few times, the commercials themselves won't play or would stop buffering in the middle. Other times, the commercials come through perfectly, but the video won't play.

I tried refreshing it, but it won't work, even after a dozen tries. If it does play, then the video would stop buffering after the video starts playing or in the middle of the video itself. Even refreshing it won't help.

I agree, it's getting terrible. I can't watch some videos with this problem.
