Collaborate on playlists

You can collaborate on playlists with friends by inviting them to add videos to new or existing playlists on YouTube. Ranked voting allows collaborators to decide the order in which the videos in your playlist appear.

Manage collaborators

Add collaborators

To get started, create a new playlist or find one that you've already made.

1. Open your playlist.
2. Select Share .
3. Select Invite collaborators .
4. Choose who you'd like to invite.

If your playlist isn't unlisted or public yet, you'll be asked to make it shareable before your invite is sent. You can add hundreds of people to your playlist and include thousands of videos or songs.

Turn off collaboration

1. At the top of your playlist, select the profile photos of your collaborators.
2. Turn on or off Collaborate.

When turned off, all collaborators will be removed from the playlist.

Leave a playlist

You can leave a playlist you were invited to but no longer wish to collaborate on.

1. Open the playlist.
2. Select Bookmark to remove it from your library.

Voting on playlists

Ranked voting allows signed-in users to upvote or downvote videos in your playlist and influence the order in which they appear. Voting is anonymous and users are allowed one vote per video.

You have three options:

• Everyone: All users with a YouTube account will be able to vote on your playlist.
• Collaborators only: Only people that you have added to your playlist as collaborators will be able to vote on it.
• Off: Voting will be disabled on your playlist for all users.

Enable or disable voting

1. Select the You tab.
2. Find the playlist on which you want to enable or disable voting and select more .
3. Select Edit .
4. Under Voting, choose between Everyone, Collaborators only or Off.
5. Select Save.

Add and remove videos

If you accept an invite to collaborate on a playlist, you can add videos or remove videos that you added in the past.

Add videos

To add videos, find a video that you want to add and select Save. You can also search for videos from the playlist.

1. In the playlist, select Add .
2. Search for the video that you want to add.
3. Select Save to playlist.

After you add a video, your profile picture will be shown on that video in the playlist.

Remove videos

Only you and the playlist owner can remove the content that you've added.

1. Go to the playlist.
2. Beside the video that you want to remove, select More .
3. Select Remove from playlist .
