Connect, manage, & disconnect your store on YouTube

If you’re eligible and use a supported platform or retailer, you can turn on Shopping features for your channel via desktop or mobile. To turn on Shopping features for your channel, you must connect one or more of the supported platforms or retailers with YouTube.

YouTube Shopping: Tag & Sell Products from Your Store

If you’re eligible, but don’t sell your products through a supported platform or retailer, visit their site to set up your store. Then connect your store with YouTube. If you want to work with one of the below retailers or platforms, go to their site to set up your store.

If you use a supported retailer or platform to sell your products, you can connect your store. Once your store is connected, you can turn on shopping features for your channel.

Supported Shopping Platforms

*You can view sales and order data in YouTube Analytics with these shopping platforms/retailers.

Note: Sales and order data in YouTube Analytics may not match the data from your shopping platforms/retailers. These differences may be due to various reasons, including but not limited to:
  • The use of third-party analytics tools
  • Differences in how attribution, such as first or last click, is defined
  • Instances such as sales in apps and returns are not reported to YouTube
  • Ad blockers
  • Multi-device tracking
  • Buyer privacy settings

Supported Shopping Retailers

Connect your stores with YouTube

You can connect your official store with YouTube to sell your own products on YouTube. You can also link more than one store and display products from each store in the same video, Short, or live stream.

  1. Use a computer to sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. In the left Menu, select Earn.
  3. Click the Shopping tab. This tab will only surface if your channel is eligible.
  4. Click Get Started if you haven’t already connected YouTube with a Shopping retailer or platform. Otherwise, click Connect new store  on the product card.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to link your official merchandise store to your YouTube channel.

You can find a full list of your stores in the “Products” section of the Shopping tab. Link as many stores as you need.

At any time you can connect another store or disconnect your store. You can also learn how to manage the products from your store on YouTube.

Shopify

Check your admin permissions

Before connecting your Shopify store with YouTube, make sure you’re using the same email address for both YouTube and Shopify. The email address should have admin access on both accounts.

Check that your email address has owner/manager access on YouTube

  1. Use a computer to sign in to YouTube Studio or open the YouTube Studio mobile app .
  2. Go to your Settings.
  3. Under Permissions, you can check which email address has Manager or Owner access to your channel or edit your permissions.

Check that your email address has staff access on your Shopify store

Update your Shopify permissions if you don’t have the right level of access.

Connect your Shopify store with YouTube

To connect your Shopify store with YouTube, select Shopify from the list of retailers in YouTube Studio or the YouTube Studio mobile app and then Go to Shopify:

  1. Within Shopify, add the Google & YouTube app to your store and follow the instructions on-screen to complete set-up. For more info, check out this set-up guide.
    1. Once you’ve installed the Google & YouTube app, connect your Google Account to the Google & YouTube app:
      1. Go to your Shopify admin page.
      2. Open Settings and then Apps and Sales channels.
      3. From the list of channels, select Google.
      4. At the top, select Settings and then Google Account. Make sure that the email listed has admin access to your YouTube channel.
  2. From the Google & YouTube app, select Overview and then YouTube Shopping and then Get Started.
  3. Select the YouTube channel that you’d like to connect to Shopify.
    1. If your email address is used to manage multiple YouTube channels, they will surface in this list. Double-check that you’re selecting the correct channel to connect with Shopify.
  4. Read the program rules carefully and agree to the terms.
  5. Select Complete setup.

After your store is connected, we review your products for compliance with our policies and the Google Merchant Center policies. This process typically takes a few business days.

If we find that items you submitted do not follow our policies, we will disapprove individual items. To appeal disapproved items, get in touch with your merch retailer or your online store admin, who can use Google Merchant Center to submit disapproved items for review.

Show your products on your store shelf

Your store shelf allows viewers on mobile to discover your channel store and browse your products from your channel homepage. Products on your shelf include details like product image, name, price, and a visit store button viewers can click to visit your store. You may remove the shelf from your homepage when you customize your channel homepage. You may also move your shelf on your homepage when you customize your channel homepage on a desktop.

By default, your store shelf will appear at the top of your channel homepage. To move it:

  1. Use a computer to sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the menu, select Customization and then Home tab and then Products from store.
  3. Reposition the shelf using drag and drop.

Your store shelf will automatically be enabled on your channel. To turn it off:

  1. Use a computer or the Studio app to sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the menu, select Customization and then Home tab and then Products from store.
  3. Toggle the switch off.

Disconnect your store from YouTube

To disconnect a store from your channel:

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. In the left Menu, click Earn.
  3. Click the Shopping tab.
  4. Click More next to the connected store and select Remove store.

Store policies

The products you feature in your store must comply with YouTube Terms of Service, including these policies:

If you violate these terms and policies, it could result in any or either of the below in accordance with these policies:

  • Suspension or termination of Shopping features
  • Account termination

No content, merchandise, or services you (or any entity, person, or artist featured in any content or merchandise on the channel or video page) offer with Shopping features displayed, subjects or will subject Google to the terms of any agreements that may apply to the content, merchandise, and services without Google’s express prior written approval of such agreements.

If you don’t agree with any of the above, do not turn on Shopping features for your channel. You can also turn off Shopping features at any time.
