Remove asset labels

If you’re following our best practices for asset labels, you may need to remove some labels from assets or delete labels from your Content Manager.

Remove labels from assets

To remove asset labels from your assets:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, click Assets.
  3. Click one or more checkboxes next to the assets you want to remove labels from.
  4. Click Edit  from the banner above and select Asset labels.
  5. Search for the asset label and select it.
  6. Click REMOVE.

You can also remove labels from assets starting from the Asset labels page:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, click Assets labels.
  3. Click the name of an asset label to view a list of the assets that have that label.
  4. On the Asset labels detail page, click the checkboxes next to the assets you want to remove the label from.
  5. Click REMOVE FROM LABEL.

Delete labels from your Content Manager

To delete asset labels from your Content Manager:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, click Asset labels.
  3. Use the search bar to find the asset label you want to delete.
  4. Click the name of the asset label you want to delete.
  5. On the Asset labels detail page, select the Metadata tab.
  6. Click DELETE ASSET LABEL.
Bulk deleting: To delete many asset labels from your Content Manager at once, use the Asset Update CSV template. In the add_asset_labels column, enter the asset labels you want to delete. In the clear_labels column, enter “yes.” Then validate and upload your spreadsheet using the Package Uploader or your dropbox.
